Investigation of the Relationship Between Breath Retention Time and Blood Parameters in Stroke Patients
Conclusion: Partial oxygen and carbon dioxide pressures and blood elements in the blood affect the breath holding time. People with high blood storage capacity and carbon dioxide and oxygen capacity can hold their breath longer. As a result, we think that the higher the hemoglobin and hematocrit levels in the blood, the longer the breath holding time can increase.

Unusual Intracranial Arterial Calcification and Vitamin D Deficiency
In conclusion, although the role of IAC in cerebral infarction is still controversial, we suggest that insufficient vitamin D should be examined and treated appropriately in all patients with IS.

Vitamin D and estradiol help guard against heart disease, stroke, and diabetes
(The North American Menopause Society (NAMS)) Vitamin D and estrogen have already shown well-documented results in improving bone health in women. A new study from China suggests that this same combination could help prevent metabolic syndrome, a constellation of conditions that increases the risk of heart disease, stroke, and diabetes in postmenopausal women. Results are published online today in Menopause, the journal of The North American Menopause Society (NAMS).

Association of vitamin D metabolites with cognitive function and brain atrophy in elderly individuals - the Austrian stroke prevention study
CONCLUSIONS: Vitamin D deficient individuals appear to have a modest reduction of memory function without structural brain atrophy. Future studies should explore if vitamin D supplementation can improve cognitive function.PMID:33825696 | DOI:10.18632/aging.202930

Vitamin D and brain health: an observational and Mendelian randomization study
CONCLUSIONS: Low vitamin D status was associated with neuroimaging outcomes and the risks of dementia and stroke even after extensive covariate adjustment. MR analyses support a causal effect of vitamin D deficiency on dementia but not on stroke risk.PMID:35451454 | DOI:10.1093/ajcn/nqac107

Role of vitamin D in cerebrovascular disease
Conclusions: After reviewing current literature on the subject, we conclude that there are some data to suggest the role of vitamin D in patients with stroke but it cannot be concluded as a risk factor for stroke. Larger population-based studies are needed to confirm the causative role of vitamin D in stroke.

The role of rehabilitation and vitamin D supplementation on motor and psychological outcomes in poststroke patients
Post-Stroke depression affects between 12% and 72% of patients who have suffered a stroke. The association between low serum levels of 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25(OH) D) and increased risk of depression is reported in both stroke and non-stroke patients. Similarly, high 25(OH) D levels might be associated with greater functional improvement during rehabilitation program. We wanted to investigate the effects of an intensive rehabilitation on poststroke outcomes. We wondered if the daily rehabilitation of motor and cognitive functions could also have an effect on mood and functional abilities in addition to or as an alternati...
