In the Kingdom of Triphasic Waves, White Matter Is the Eminence Grise
Conclusions: This is the first series to demonstrate convincingly the presence of TWs in patients with WMD in the absence of commonly cited risk factors. The authors hypothesize that less recognized risk factors of WMD and mild metabolic or infectious abnormalities may be drivers of TWs. With a growing elderly population, the presence of WMD will increase, and treating physicians need to look beyond the common causes of TWs.

Low Rate of Intrathecal Baclofen Pump Catheter ‐Related Complications: Long‐Term Study in Over 100 Adult Patients Associated With Reinforced Catheter
ConclusionsReported CRCs have been high for ITB pump systems. Ours is the first large cohort, long ‐term study of CRCs related to reinforced catheters; additionally, our low CRC rate compares favorably to previously published data. Thus, implantation of reinforced catheters may be associated with a low CRC rate.

Waggle needling wields preferable neuroprotective and anti-spastic effects on post-stroke spasticity rats by attenuating γ-aminobutyric acid transaminase and enhancing γ-aminobutyric acid.
This study was designed to compare the anti-spastic effect of waggle needling to the routine needling and to explore its underlying mechanism. We established post-stroke spasticity model based on ischemia stroke operation (middle cerebral artery occlusion). Rats were divided into six groups: normal control group, sham-operated control group, ischemia stroke model group, waggle needling group, routine needling group and baclofen group. Neurological function and muscle tone were assessed by the Zea Longa score and modified Ashworth scale, respectively. Indirect muscle tone was testified with electrophysiological recording. C...

What Are Some Risk Factors for Cerebral Palsy?
Discussion The term, cerebral palsy, or CP has gone through many iterations with the first description in 1861 by W.J. The motor disorders of cerebral palsy are often accompanied by disturbances of sensation, perception, cog...
