Pregnancy-associated stroke and the recurrence of stroke and other complications in subsequent pregnancies: Population-based retrospective cohort study

Severe Infection and Risk of Cardiovascular Disease: A Multicohort Study
CONCLUSIONS: Infections severe enough to require hospital treatment were associated with increased risks for major cardiovascular disease events immediately after hospitalization. Less is more - The Finnish Prehospital Stroke Scale prospective validation
The current bifurcation of the acute stroke care pathway requires prehospital separation of strokes caused by large vessel occlusion. The first four binary items of the Finnish Prehospital Stroke Scale (FPSS) identify stroke in general, while the fifth binary item alone identifies stroke due to large vessel occlusion. The straightforward design is both easy for paramedics and statistically beneficial. We implemented FPSS based Western Finland Stroke Triage Plan, including medical districts of a comprehensive stroke center and four primary stroke centers.

Outcome of transcatheter atrial septal defect closure in a nationwide cohort
CONCLUSION: After TC closure of ASD, patients had a higher risk of new-onset atrial fibrillation and migraine than controls without ASD. Clinical characteristics of pancreatic and biliary tract cancers in Lynch syndrome: A retrospective analysis from the Finnish National Lynch Syndrome Research Registry
ConclusionAlthough the survival of LS patients with PC or BTC is better than in sporadic cancers, it is still poor and may be reflected by the relatively higher surgical resectability accounted for by the earlier age of onset. More studies on analyses of the molecular and immune profile, screening, and management of LS-associated pancreaticobiliary cancers are warranted.
