Multicentric validation of a reduced features case-mix set for predicting functional outcome after ischemic stroke in Belgium
DiscussionThe reduced features set (age, NIHSS and pre-mRS) was independently associated with long-term functional outcome in a Belgian multicentric cohort, making it useful for case-mix adjustments in Belgian stroke centers. Treatment modality was associated with long-term outcome.

Methotrexate-Induced Stroke-Like Encephalopathy: Beware the Stroke Mimic
We report a case of methotrexate (MTX)-induced stroke-like encephalopathy in an 18-year-old woman, with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, who developed a sudden neurological deficit mimicking a cerebrovascular event. Bain MRI showed hyperintensities on diffusion-weighted-imaging (DWI) with matching apparent diffusion coefficient hypointensities, which also represent the commonest MRI findings in acute cerebral infarction. Variation in stroke care at the hospital level: A cross-sectional multicenter study
ConclusionWe identified high adherence to guidelines for some indicators, but lower rates with large interhospital variability for other recommendations also based on robust evidence. Improvement strategies should be implemented to improve the latter.

Mortality and Morbidity Effects of Long-Term Exposure to Low-Level PM < sub > 2.5 < /sub > , BC, NO < sub > 2 < /sub > , and O < sub > 3 < /sub > : An Analysis of European Cohorts in the ELAPSE Project
CONCLUSIONS: Long-term exposure to PM2.5, NO2, and BC was positively associated with natural-cause and cause-specific mortality in the pooled cohort and the administrative cohorts. Associations were found well below current limit values and guidelines for PM2.5 and NO2. Associations tended to be supralinear, with steeper slopes at low exposures with no indication of a threshold. ConclusionsInappropriate NOAC dosing is present in almost twenty percent of AF patients according to the SmPC and requires further education of health care professionals and frequent reassessment of NOAC dosing. However, a significant lower prevalence of underdosing was present when judged by the 2018 EHRA criteria, likely reflecting decision making in complex AF patients. Perceived frailty, weight, renal function and type of NOAC are the main determinants of deviated dosing.

MRI of Wallerian Degeneration in the Brainstem: A Pictorial Essay
Wallerian degeneration of the cerebral peduncle is a common MRI finding after cerebral injury. The degree of peduncular atrophy reflects the extent of damage in the corticospinal tract. The acute phase of Wallerian degeneration is visible with Diffusion-Weighted-Imaging.
