Outcomes of transulnar and transradial percutaneous coronary intervention using ultrasound guided access in patients selected based on an ultrasound algorithm
Indian Heart J. 2021 May-Jun;73(3):362-364. doi: 10.1016/j.ihj.2021.03.005. Epub 2021 Mar 17.ABSTRACTWe performed a prospective observational study of 215 patients (58 ± 11 years) and compared the outcomes of ultrasound guided ulnar (n = 98, 45.6%) vs. radial (n = 117, 54.4%) cardiac catheterization and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in patients selected by an ultrasound based algorithm. Primary endpoints included the number of access attempts and conversion to femoral access. Secondary endpoints included all-cause mortality, cardiac mortality, myocardial infarction, stroke, repeat revascularization, stent throm...

Impact of H-Type Hypertension on Intraplaque Neovascularization Assessed by Contrast-Enhanced Ultrasound
CONCLUSION: H-type hypertension is expressly connected with the degree of plaque enhancement and may facilitate plaque vulnerability. Our findings may offer a new insight for treating vulnerable plaque, lowering blood pressure, and lowering homocysteine equally crucial.PMID:33827997 | DOI:10.5551/jat.61275

Plasma Protein Profile of Carotid Artery Atherosclerosis and Atherosclerotic Outcomes: Meta-Analyses and Mendelian Randomization Analyses
CONCLUSIONS: The present meta-analysis discovered several proteins related to carotid atherosclerosis that partly differed in their association with IMT-CCA, plaque, and incident atherosclerotic disease. Mendelian randomization analysis for the top finding, MMP-12, suggests that the increased levels of MMP-12 could be a consequence of atherosclerotic burden rather than the opposite chain of events.PMID:33657885 | DOI:10.1161/ATVBAHA.120.315597

Anticoagulant management by low-dose of low molecular weight heparin in patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation following hemorrhagic transformation and complicated with venous thrombosis: Five case reports and literature review
For patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation (NVAF) following hemorrhagic infarction (HI)/hemorrhage transformation (HT) and complicated with venous thrombosis, the management of anticoagulation is controversial. Our study intends to explore the safety and effectiveness of using low-dose of low molecular weight heparin (LMWH) to treat NVAF patients with HI (or HT) and complicated with venous thrombosis. Between January 2018 and January 2019, NVAF related acute ischemic stroke patients with HT/HI, hospitalized in the department of neurology or rehabilitation in our hospital, are enrolled retrospectively. Among them,...
