Multicenter Comparison of Novel Self-Expanding Versus Balloon-Expandable Transcatheter Heart Valves
Conclusions Very high success rates were achieved for both valves, and the clinical and procedural results were comparable. Compared with S3, NEO was associated with less new pacemaker implantations and less elevated gradients, but with more paravalvular leakage.

Short-Term Outcome and Hemodynamic Performance of Next-Generation Self-Expanding Versus Balloon-Expandable Transcatheter Aortic Valves in Patients With Small Aortic Annulus: A Multicenter Propensity-Matched Comparison Structural Heart Disease
Conclusions— Albeit a similar safety profile with low clinical event rates, transcatheter aortic valve replacement with the ACURATE neo valve resulted in lower transvalvular gradients and consequently less prosthesis–patient mismatch compared with the SAPIEN 3 in patients with small annulus. These results emphasize the need of careful prosthesis selection in each individual patient.

Quality of life and patient satisfaction in patients with atrial fibrillation on stable vitamin K antagonist treatment or switched to a non-vitamin K antagonist oral anticoagulant during a 1-year follow-up: A PREFER in AF Registry substudy.
CONCLUSIONS: At the beginning of NOAC prescriptions, European doctors tended to switch from VKAs to NOACs those patients at lower risk than "non-switchers". Complaints about bruising or bleeding, dissatisfaction with treatment, mobility problems and anxiety/depression traits appear to be related to - and may have influenced - the choice to switch from a VKA to a NOAC. Minimally Invasive Versus Transcatheter and Surgical Aortic Valve Replacement: A Propensity Matched Study.
CONCLUSIONS: During recent years, MIAVR and TFTAVR have experienced significant growth in volume with near-comparable short-term outcomes, while SAVR and TA-TAVR volumes have declined. SOURCE 3: 1-year outcomes post-transcatheter aortic valve implantation using the latest generation of the balloon-expandable transcatheter heart valve

Matched Comparison of Self-Expanding Transcatheter Heart Valves for the Treatment of Failed Aortic Surgical Bioprosthesis: Insights From the Valve-in-Valve International Data Registry (VIVID) Structural Heart Disease
Conclusions— In this first matched comparison of THVs for valve-in-valve implantations, Portico and CoreValve demonstrated differences in postprocedural hemodynamics and long-term clinical outcomes. Although this could be related to THV design characteristics, the impact of other procedural factors cannot be excluded and require further evaluation.

Assessment of the Relationship Between Serum Vascular Adhesion Protein-1 (VAP-1) and Severity of Calcific Aortic Valve Stenosis.

Aortic Valve Replacement in Redo-Scenarios: A Comparison Between Traditional Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) and Transapical-TAVR from Two Real-World Multicenter Registries.
CONCLUSIONS: Outcome differences between RAVR and TaTAVR in redo-scenarios reflect methodological differences and different baseline risk profiles.
