Angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors and angiotensin receptor blockers for adults with early (stage 1 to 3) non-diabetic chronic kidney disease
CONCLUSIONS: There is currently insufficient evidence to determine the effectiveness of ACEi or ARB in patients with stage 1 to 3 CKD who do not have DM. The available evidence is overall of very low certainty and high risk of bias. Prescription patterns and therapeutic effects of second-line drugs in Japanese patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus: Analysis of claims data for metformin and dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitors as the first-line hypoglycemic agents
CONCLUSIONS: Metformin was suggested to have larger effect to reduce death than sulfonylurea in patients receiving first-line DPP4i. The order of first- and second-line for the DPP4i and metformin combination did not affect the outcomes. Statins Reduce Bleeding Risk in Patients Taking Oral Anticoagulants for Nonvalvular Atrial Fibrillation: A Retrospective Registry Study
ConclusionsStatins significantly reduced the risk of major bleeding, all-cause mortality, and ischemic events in patients with NVAF taking OACs. Their additive benefits should be considered in routine practice and thus be further researched.
