Inositol trisphosphate receptor type 3-mediated enhancement of EGFR and MET co-targeting efficacy in non-small cell lung cancer detected by 18F-fluorothymidine.
CONCLUSIONS: Our findings indicate that 18F-FLT PET/CT is able to detect the enhanced efficacy of EGFR and MET inhibitors in oncogene-driven NSCLC and that such enhancement is mediated by IP3R3 through its interaction with K-Ras. PMID: 29618618 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Ghrelin protects against depleted uranium-induced bone damage by increasing osteoprotegerin/RANKL ratio.
Abstract Depleted uranium (DU) is widely used in military and civil activities, and bone is the main target organ of chronic DU toxicity. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of ghrelin on rats implanted with DU and explore the underlying mechanisms. The results showed that ghrelin could increase the expression of ghrelin receptor in bone tissue, thus alleviate the apoptosis of bone tissue after 3 months of 0.3 g DU embedded in the tibia. The role of monocarboxylate transpoter 1 to uptake acetate in low glycolytic hepatocellular carcinoma cell line HepG2 cells
Conclusions Our data demonstrate that acetate was supported to HCC cells through MCT1 specifically in the low glycolytic cancer cells, and high MCT1 expression is related with low glycolytic phenotype cancer that would be the therapeutic target or diagnosis probe for low glycolytic cancers.

Nitrilase 1 modulates lung tumor progression in vitro and in vivo.
In this study we aimed to determine the role of Nit1 in a transgenic mouse lung cancer model driven by a G12D Kras mutation. Nit1 knockout mice (Nit1-/-) were crossed with KrasG12D/+ mice to investigate whether a G12D Kras mutation and Nit1 inactivation interact to promote or inhibit the development of NSCLC. We found that lung tumorigenesis was suppressed in the Nit1-null background (Nit1-/-:KrasG12D/+). First-in-Human Phase I Study of the Liposomal RNA Interference Therapeutic Atu027 in Patients With Advanced Solid Tumors Phase I and Clinical Pharmacology
Conclusion Atu027 was safe in patients with advanced solid tumors, with 41% of patients having stable disease for at least 8 weeks. In view of these results, further clinical trials have been initiated, and sFLT1 will be investigated as a potential biomarker.

ConclusionAnnexin A2 is a key molecule in the DDR‐2/annexin A2/MMP‐13 loop, the activation of which contributes to joint destruction in RA, mainly through promoting invasion of FLS. Annexin A2 might therefore become a novel clinical target for RA treatment.
