Does follow-up D-dimer level help in predicting oxygenation status, ventilatory support requirement, lung fibrosis, and thromboembolic events in coronavirus disease 2019 pneumonia ? A prospective observational study in a tertiary care setting in India
Conclusions: D-dimer has documented a very crucial role in COVID-19 pneumonia in predicting the severity of illness and assessing response to treatment during hospitalization, and follow-up titers have a significant role in step-up or step-down interventions in a critical care setting.

Anti-N-methyl-d-aspartate receptor encephalitis and positive human herpesvirus-7 deoxyribonucleic acid in cerebrospinal fluid: a case report
ConclusionsWe present a pediatric case of anti-N-methyl-d-aspartate receptor encephalitis with atypical clinical presentation. The role of human herpesvirus-7 in neurological disorders remains unclear in immunocompetent patients.

Predicting the COVID-19 Patients Status Using Chest CT Scan Findings: A Risk Assessment Model Based on Decision Tree Analysis
CONCLUSIONS: The presented algorithm demonstrates the factors affecting health conditions in COVID-19 disease patients. This model has the potential characteristics for clinical applications and can identify high-risk subpopulations that need specific prevention. Further developments including integration of blood biomarkers are underway to increase the performance of the model.PMID:37378771 | DOI:10.1007/978-3-031-28012-2_13

Chest CT features of COVID-19 in vaccinated versus unvaccinated patients: use of CT severity score and outcome analysis
ConclusionsLung involvement during COVID-19 was significantly less severe in vaccinated patients compared with unvaccinated patients, who also showed worse clinical outcomes. Vaccination status was the strongest variable associated to the severity of COVID-related, more than age, gender, and number of doses administered.

MSCCov19Net: multi-branch deep learning model for COVID-19 detection from cough sounds
In this study, deep neural network –based model capable of detecting coronavirus from only coughing sound, which is fast, remotely operable and has no harmful side effects, has been proposed. The proposed multi-branch model takesM el Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCC),S pectrogram, andC hromagram as inputs and is abbreviated asMSCCov19Net. The system is trained on publicly available crowdsourced datasets, and tested on two unseen (used only for testing) clinical and non-clinical datasets. Experimental outcomes represent that the proposed system outperforms the 6 popular deep learning architectures on four datasets by...

"Incidence and predictors of development of new onset hypertension post COVID-19 disease"
CONCLUSION: New onset of hypertension was detected in 32.3% of patients at one-year follow-up post-COVID-19 disease recovery. Severe inflammation at the time of admission and severe CT severity score were associated with the development of new onset of hypertension on follow-up.PMID:37328135 | PMC:PMC10265930 | DOI:10.1016/j.ihj.2023.06.002
