Neurological symptoms common in covid-19 patients: a retrospective observational study
In this study, we aimed to present the main neurologic symptoms in patients who were diagnosed with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The study was conducted retrospectively by phoning 156 patients in Turkey diagnosed with COVID-19 through real-time polymerase chain reaction; only 100 patients could be reached. Data about their demographics, initial symptoms, neurological symptoms, and sleeping habits were collected. During the disease process, 66% had at least one neurological symptom, 55% had central nervous system symptoms, 42% had peripheral nervous system symptoms, and 64% had sleep disturbances and myalgia. Impair...

A Novel Classification Model Using Optimal Long Short-Term Memory for Classification of COVID-19 from CT Images
AbstractThe human respiratory system is affected when an individual is infected with COVID-19, which became a global pandemic in 2020 and affected millions of people worldwide. However, accurate diagnosis of COVID-19 can be challenging due to small variations in typical and COVID-19 pneumonia, as well as the complexities involved in classifying infection regions. Currently, various deep learning (DL)-based methods are being introduced for the automatic detection of COVID-19 using computerized tomography (CT) scan images. In this paper, we propose the pelican optimization algorithm-based long short-term memory (POA-LSTM) me...

The Direct Impact of the COVID ‐19 Pandemic on Rhinology Practice
ConclusionsCOVID-19 significantly affected the number of patients seen, virtual visit encounters, nasal endoscopies, and imaging utilization. Acute Necrotizing Encephalopathy in Adult Patients With COVID-19: A Systematic Review of Case Reports and Case Series
CONCLUSIONS: The diagnosis of COVID-19-associated ANE requires a thorough knowledge of the disease. Since the clinical presentations of ANE are neither sensitive nor specific, further laboratory and brain radiological evaluations will be needed to confirm the diagnosis. The suspicion of ANE should be raised among patients with COVID-19 who present with progressive neurological symptoms.PMID:37455513 | DOI:10.3988/jcn.2022.0431

Effectiveness and safety of Xuebijing injection for patients with coronavirus disease 2019: a systematic review and Metaanalysis
CONCLUSIONS: Preliminary evidence suggests that XBJ combined with routine treatment seems to be more effective than routine treatment for patients with COVID19. Limited by the number and quality of included papers, this finding still needs further validation by more studies.PMID:37454247 | DOI:10.19852/j.cnki.jtcm.20230517.002
