Is Post COVID-19 cholangiopathy an appropriate ındication for liver transplantation?
Rev Esp Enferm Dig. 2023 Jun 14. doi: 10.17235/reed.2023.9740/2023. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe effect of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2, which has infected more than 765 million people in the world to date, has decreased gradually, but the effect of late complications after the disease has begun to increase. Post-coronavirus disease 2019 cholangiopathy can be considered as one of the late complications identified in patients recovering from SARS-CoV-2 infection. Investigating Viral Involvement in Immunocompromised Patients Using Comprehensive Infectious Disease Testing Including FilmArray Respiratory Panel 2.1 on Bronchoscopy: A Retrospective Study
Conclusions Comprehensive infectious disease testing, performed using bronchoalveolar lavage samples collected from lung lesions in immunosuppressed patients, showed low positive detection by FARP. The viruses currently detectable by FARP may be less involved in viral pneumonia diagnosed in immunocompromised patients.PMID:37303378 | PMC:PMC10256251 | DOI:10.7759/cureus.38820

Incidental Finding of Arteria Lusoria in COVID-19 Patient with Aortic Thrombus Complicated by Recurrent Limb Ischemia
We report the case of a 64-year-old woman with recent severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 pneumonia who was admitted to the hospital due to a giant floating thrombus in the ascending aorta with multiple ischemic events. Aortic computed tomography angiogram revealed an aberrant right subclavian artery associated with bicarotid trunk that might have protected carotid arteries from embol migration. Thrombosis is a rare clinical presentation in coronavirus disease 2019 infection but with serious complications that must be kept in mind to detect and avoid morbidities like ischemic stroke. Clinical characterisation and management outcome of obstetric patients following intensive care unit admission for COVID-19 pneumonia
This study aims to examine the clinical characteristics and mortality-related factors of obstetric patients, who were taken to the intensive care unit due to Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). This study included 31 patients in the peripartum period with COVID-19 pneumonia, followed up in the intensive care unit (ICU) from March 2020 to December 2020. Symptoms, laboratory values, intensive care unit duration of stay, complications, the requirement of non-invasive and invasive mechanical ventilation, and mortality were recorded. The mean age was 30.7 ± 6.2 years and the mean gestational age was 31.1 ± 6.4 weeks. Among t...
