Deiodinases, organic anion transporter polypeptide polymorphisms and symptoms of anxiety and depression after ischemic stroke
Mental disorders, such as anxiety and depression, are common after stroke. It was reported, that post-stroke anxiety cumulative incidence reached 57% within the first ten years after stroke was experienced.1 This mental health problem after stroke leads to impaired quality of life1 and poorer activity of daily living.2 Recent meta-analysis established, that the risk of stroke in a person with symptoms of anxiety is even higher compared to the risk of coronary heart disease or heart failure.3 Moreover, anxiety disorder comorbid with symptoms of depression after stroke was associated with increased lethal outcomes.

Stroke in supplementary motor area mimicking functional disorder: a case report
We report a 59-year-old man with previous history for myocardial infarction, referred to emergency room with an acute dense right-side hemiplegia, positive Hoover sign, asymmetrical Babinski responses and intermittent ability to move his arm in some specific reflex actions despite plegia. Improving everyday memory performance after acquired brain injury: An RCT on recollection and working memory training.
Conclusion: Our results show that combining working memory and recollection training significantly improves performance on everyday memory tasks, demonstrating far transfer effects. The pathological spectrum behind migraine aura status: a case series
ConclusionsIn front of a patient with a MAS, an organic lesion of the brain must be suspected, until a complete negative vascular and neuroradiological diagnostic workup has been performed. A spectrum of underlying pathologies (vascular or demyelinating diseases, epileptic or degenerative conditions) may cause a MAS-like clinical onset.
