Altered Epidermal Permeability Barrier Function in the Uninvolved Skin Supports a Role of Epidermal Dysfunction in the Pathogenesis of Occupational Hand Eczema
In conclusion, the uninvolved skin site of subjects with hand eczema exhibits abnormalities in epidermal perme ability barrier, supporting a pathogenic role of epidermal dysfunction in hand eczema. Whether subjects with hand eczema in other occupations also display altered epidermal function on uninvolved skin remains to be explored.Skin Pharmacol Physiol 2020;33:94 –101

Comparative Study of Food Allergies in Children from China, India, and Russia: The EuroPrevall-INCO Surveys
ConclusionsThere are wide variations in the prevalence of food-specific IgE sensitization and food allergy in the 3 participating countries. Food allergy appears to be less common when compared with developed countries. The variations in the prevalence of food allergen sensitization cannot be explained by the differences in the degree of urbanization. Despite the high prevalence of food-specific IgE sensitization in India and rural China, food allergy is still extremely uncommon. In addition to IgE sensitization, other factors must play important roles resulting in the clinical manifestations of food allergies.

The Rise of the Pea: How an Unassuming Legume Emerged as a Frontrunner in the Race to Replace Meat and Dairy
No one denies peas are nutritious. Whether they’re delicious—that’s debatable. But arguments over taste no longer matter because peas, specifically yellow peas, are being formulated into so many products, they’re unavoidable, and often invisible. As a crop, the pea has risen and fallen in favor, but today everyone seems to agree that it checks the box against the biggest problems plaguing the Earth: climate, food and health. From a sustainability standpoint, peas, in the legume family, do everything wheat, corn and soy don’t. They require less water, are drought tolerant, reduce the need for n...

Hospitalization Costs and Length of Stay in Chinese Naval Hospitals Between 2008 and 2016 Based on Influencing Factors: A Longitudinal Comparison.
CONCLUSIONS: The results suggest that improving efficiency of military hospital require strengthening hierarchical referrals and controlling hospital LOS. Shortening LOS, optimizing clinical pathways, and reasonably controlling the costs associated with medicines and surgery can help reduce hospitalization costs for military patients. Controlling the growth of hospitalization costs can help avoid the physical and psychological burden of medical over-treatment on patients and may also optimize the allocation of military health resources. Molecules, Vol. 24, Pages 2131: Hispidulin Inhibits Mast Cell-Mediated Allergic Inflammation through Down-Regulation of Histamine Release and Inflammatory Cytokines
im Kwon Hispidulin (4′,5,7-trihydroxy-6-methoxyflavone) is a natural compound derived from traditional Chinese medicinal herbs, and it is known to have an anti-inflammatory effect. Here, we investigated the effect of hispidulin on the immunoglobulin E (IgE)-mediated allergic responses in rat basophilic leukemia (RBL)-2H3 mast cells. When RBL-2H3 cells were sensitized with anti-dinitrophenyl (anti-DNP) IgE and subsequently stimulated with DNP-human serum albumin (HSA), histamine and β-hexosaminidase were released from the cells by degranulation of activated mast cells. However, pretreatment...
