Cardiac Risk Factors for Stroke: A Comprehensive Mendelian Randomization Study
CONCLUSIONS: Available genetic data do not support substantial effects of cardiac traits on the risk of stroke beyond known clinical risk factors. Conclusion: If any relationship exists between stroke and PFO, this is more likely in PACI and POCI at a younger age. Apixaban for Secondary Stroke Prevention: Coexistant Cerebral Atherosclerosis May Increase Recurrent Strokes

Clinical features of ischemic stroke in patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation combined with intracranial atherosclerotic stenosis
ConclusionNVAF with ICAS ischemic stroke is more likely to occur in older patients. Infarctions occurred mainly in the right cerebral hemisphere. Neurological deficits in NVAF are more severe than those in NVAF combined with ICAS and in simple ICAS ischemic strokes. HsCRP, LEVF, andNTpro-BNP seem to be closely associated with NVAF+ICAS ischemic stroke.

Patterns of Infarction on MRI in Patients With Acute Ischemic Stroke and Cardio-Embolism: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
Conclusion: The findings of this systematic review and meta-analysis are broadly consistent with previous literature and provide more robust evidence on the association between infarct topography, volume and stroke etiology. Our findings may assist with refining cardiac investigations for patients with cryptogenic stroke, based on infarct topography.

Left ventricular hypertrophy diagnosed after a stroke: a case report
ConclusionsElectrocardiogram diagnosis of left ventricular hypertrophy led to the diagnosis of apical hypertrophic cardiomyopathy in this patient. Left ventricular hypertrophy was only evident a few days after our patient suffered a stroke. The underlying mechanisms responsible for this remain unclear. Furthermore, differential diagnosis of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy should be considered in people with electrocardiogram criteria for left ventricular hypertrophy.
