Biventricular imaging markers to predict outcomes in non ‐compaction cardiomyopathy: a machine learning study
ConclusionsOur findings show the importance of biventricular assessment to detect the severity of this cardiomyopathy and to plan for early clinical intervention. In addition, this study shows that even patients with normal LV function and negative late gadolinium enhancement had MACE. ML is a promising tool for analysing a large set of parameters to stratify and predict prognosis in LVNC patients.

Relation between index of cardioelectrophysiological balance and stroke severity in patients with acute ischemic stroke
Conclusion: Our results suggested that iCEB is associated with stroke severity on admission in patients with acute ischemic stroke. It is known that high iCEB is associated with torsade de pointes (TdP), ventricular tachycardia.

ConclusionsIn this group of patients with prolonged QTc in the Neuro ICU, we observed several episodes of non-sustained ventricular tachycardia and identified important risk factors associated with their occurrence. This knowledge is essential to inform clinical decisions.

In ‐hospital ventricular arrhythmia in heart failure patients: 7 year follow‐up of the multi‐centric HEARTS registry
ConclusionsLower mean age of VA complicated HF patients is a matter of concern in the Saudi population. HF associated with VA increased in ‐hospital events and all‐cause mortality indicating poor prognosis and survival. These findings enable risk stratification and reflect on the importance of early recognition of the clinical markers and predictors of VA prompting immediate management.

ConclusionA founder effect of FD due to p.F113L mutation was documented by genealogy and genetics in a Portuguese region. In this late-onset phenotype, although cardiac manifestations carry the highest prognostic impact, extracardiac involvement is common.

Impaired Activity of Ryanodine Receptors Contributes to Calcium Mishandling in Cardiomyocytes of Metabolic Syndrome Rats
Conclusion Principal findings of this work are that abnormal Ca2+ transient amplitude, contractile dysfunction; and impaired relaxation of MetS cardiomyocytes underlies intrinsic dysfunctional RyR2 and SERCA pump. Abnormal activity of RyRs was evidenced by its decreased ability to bind [3H]-ryanodine. Although the MetS condition does not modify RyR2 protein expression, its phosphorylation at Ser2814 is decreased, which impairs its capacity for activation during ECC. Clinical characteristics and outcome of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy in the Saudi population – A single cardiac center experience

Patterns of incidence rates of cardiac complications in patients with congenital heart disease
ConclusionsCardiac complications are frequent in congenital heart disease. Apart from perioperative stroke and complete heart block, incidence rates are low in childhood but the incidence increases during adult life. These data underscore the need of life-long follow up and may help for better allocation of resources maintaining follow-up.

CONCLUSIONS: Cardiac involvement in m.3243A>G carriers has been only rarely systematically studied, which is perhaps why the incidence of cardiac diseases in MELAS is lower than would be expected. Myocardial abnormalities are much more frequent than arrhythmias or conduction defects. All symptomatic and asymptomatic m.3243A>G carriers should be systematically investigated for cardiac disease. Safety and Efficacy of Intracoronary Infusion of Allogeneic Human Cardiac Stem Cells in Patients with ST-segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction and Left Ventricular Dysfunction: A Multicenter Randomized, Double-Blind and Placebo-Controlled Clinical Trial.
Conclusions: Allogeneic cardiac stem cells can be safely administered in STEMI patients with LV dysfunction early after revascularization.
