Anti ‐citrullinated protein antibody specificities, rheumatoid factor isotypes and incident cardiovascular events in patients with rheumatoid arthritis
ConclusionsRF isotypes and ACPA are associated with future CV events. ACPA levels and number of sub ‐specificities seem more important than the occurrence of particular sub‐specificities. These associations were not explained by smoking.

Comparison Between Ticagrelor and Clopidogrel in Elderly Patients with an Acute Coronary Syndrome: Insights from the SWEDEHEART Registry.
Conclusions: Ticagrelor use among elderly MI patients was associated with higher risk of bleeding and death compared with clopidogrel. A randomized study of ticagrelor vs clopidogrel in the elderly is needed. PMID: 32867508 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Anti –Citrullinated Protein Antibody Specificities, Rheumatoid Factor Isotypes, and Incident Cardiovascular Events in Patients With Rheumatoid Arthritis
ConclusionRF isotypes and ACPAs are associated with future CV events in patients with RA. ACPA levels and number of subspecificities seem more important than the occurrence of particular subspecificities, and these associations were not explained by a history of ever smoking.

Diet and Lifestyle as Risk Factors for Carotid Artery Disease: A Prospective Cohort Study
Conclusions: In conclusion, the present study found a trend toward a protective effect of higher intake of vegetables and fruit against incident CAD. More prospective studies investigating the association between diet and CAD and stroke are needed in order to give firm recommendations.Cerebrovasc Dis

Aphasia and spelling to dictation: Analysis of spelling errors and editing.
CONCLUSIONS & IMPLICATIONS: Word length and word frequency should be taken into consideration in spelling tests for persons with aphasia, and the presence of editing difficulty should be taken into account when assessing spelling difficulties. Treatment for writing difficulties in aphasia should include training in successful editing strategies and individual fitting of digital writing aids. What this paper adds What is already known on the subject Post-stroke aphasia often causes writing and spelling difficulties. Spelling difficulties may entail editing difficulties, in turn causing extensive and/or unsuccessful edit...

Circulating TNFrII levels predict incidence of ischemic heart disease and total mortality, independently of intima media thickness and pulse wave velocity in male with type 2 diabetes
AbstractNew and clinically useful markers of cardiovascular risk are of great importance in patients with type 2 diabetes since cardiovascular disease is a major cause of death in these patients. We analyzed inflammatory markers and other risk factors for heart disease in 761 patients who participated in the CARDIPP-study, Cardiovascular Risk factors in Patients with Diabetes —a Prospective study in Primary care. All participants had type 2 diabetes and were 55–66 years old at recruitment during the years 2005–2008. Patients were followed for incidence of stroke, myocardial infarction, or death from cardiovascular d...

Incident cardiovascular disease and long-term exposure to source-specific air pollutants in a Swedish cohort
CONCLUSION: In an area with low to moderate air pollution exposure, we observed significant associations of long-term residential NOx with increased risk of incident CHF and fatal MI, but not with coronary events and stroke.PMID:35074356 | DOI:10.1016/j.envres.2022.112698

Endovascular therapy in basilar artery occlusion in Sweden 2016 –2019—a nationwide, prospective registry study
ConclusionWe confirm a serious outcome in BAO despite endovascular therapies, and demonstrate important differences relating to occlusion location in baseline characteristics, procedural time, therapeutic measures and outcome. Further in-depth analyses of factors affecting outcome in BAO are warranted.
