Streamlined Carotid Artery Calcification Labeling For Cta Scans
Introduction: We require vast amounts of manually labeled calcifications to train advanced machine learning classifiers for carotid artery plaque detection and phenotyping high-risk calcifications for ischemic stroke patients. We developed CTOOL, a web-based software for streamlined calcium labeling with minimal user interaction.

Coronary artery calcifications and 6-month mortality in patients with COVID-19 without known atheromatous disease
CONCLUSIONS: Non-electrocardiogram-gated computed tomography during the initial pulmonary assessment of patients with COVID-19 without atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease showed a high prevalence of mild, moderate and heavy CAC. CAC score was related to 6-month mortality, independent of conventional cardiovascular risk factors. CONCLUSIONS: In patients with established cardiovascular disease, thoracic aortic 18F-sodium fluoride activity is associated with the progression of atherosclerosis and future ischemic stroke. Association Between 18-FDG Positron Emission Tomography and MRI Biomarkers of Plaque Vulnerability in Patients With Symptomatic Carotid Stenosis
Conclusion: This study demonstrated novel correlations of non-invasive imaging biomarkers of inflammation-related plaque metabolism with morphological MRI markers of plaque instability. If replicated, our findings may support the application of combined MRI and PET to detect vulnerable plaque in future clinical practise and randomised trials.

CONCLUSIONS: Evidence of posterior cerebral artery hyperdensity is a rare radiological finding associated with an increased volume of ischaemic stroke. A computed tomography scan of the head in the acute phase is essential to try to clarify its causation.
