Endovascular vs medical management of acute ischemic stroke
Conclusions: This meta-analysis provides strong evidence that endovascular intervention combined with medical management, including IV tissue plasminogen activator for eligible patients, improves the outcomes of appropriately selected patients with acute ischemic stroke in the setting of LVO.

Intermediate-term rates of stroke following cardiac procedures: the Nationwide Readmissions Database (P4.305)
Conclusions:Using a large, nationally representative database of inpatient admissions from 2013, we found that 90-day stroke rates are higher after cardiac procedures compared to non-cardiac procedures and non-surgical admissions. Echocardiographic pressure –strain loop‐derived stroke work of the right ventricle: validation against the gold standard
ConclusionsIntegrated echo measurement of pressure –strain loop-derived SW correlates with PV loop-based assessment of RV SW. Wasted work correlates with invasive measures of load-independent RV function. Given the methodological and anatomical challenges of RV work assessment, evolution of this approach by incorporating more elaborated echo analy sis data and an RV reference curve might improve its reliability to mirror invasively assessed RV SW.

Impact of increased venous pressure on kidney function and mortality in cardiovascular patients with preserved ejection fraction.
Conclusions: Our study demonstrates that right ventricular preload affects renal function in patients with preserved systolic function and that neither aortic systolic pressure nor left ventricle pressure indices were related to estimated glomerular filtration rate. Furthermore, we demonstrated for the first time that an increased RAP is able to predict a worse prognosis in patients with preserved ejection fraction independently of well-established risk factors, such as blood pressure and SVI. Characteristics of Heart Failure With Preserved Ejection Fraction Across the Range of Left Ventricular Ejection Fraction
CONCLUSIONS: Patients with HFpEF in whom LVEF ranged from 50% to 60% demonstrated reduced contractility, impaired ventriculo-arterial coupling, and higher extracellular volume fraction. In contrast, patients with HFpEF and a LVEF >60% demonstrated a hypercontractile state with excessive LV afterload and diminished preload reserve. Systemic blood pressure in severe aortic stenosis: Haemodynamic correlates and long ‐term prognostic impact
ConclusionsIn severe AS patients, lower MAP reflects lower systemic vascular resistance and valvulo-arterial impedance, which may help to preserve stroke volume and filling pressures despite reduced left ventricular performance, and lower MAP is a predictor of higher long-term post-AVR mortality.

Relationship of Right- to Left-Sided Ventricular Filling Pressures in Advanced Heart Failure: Insights From the ESCAPE Trial Original Articles

Prostanoids But Not Oral Therapies Improve Right Ventricular Function in Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension
Conclusions Right ventricular function improves after therapy with regimens including prostanoids but not oral-only regimens. Patients with the least compensated RV function at diagnosis might derive the most benefit from therapy. Larger studies are needed to determine whether changes in RVSWI after therapy are associated with outcomes.
