Abstract Cutaneous T-cell lymphomas (CTCL), especially mycosis fungoides, can be considered as a state of longstanding low-grade systemic inflammation. Many studies have focused on secondary cancers with CTCL, but information about comorbidities is limited. Idiopathic Thrombocytopenia Purpura Masking Hodgkin Disease: A Paraneoplastic Syndrome or Simply a Mere Association?
We report a 74-year-old female who presented to the emergency department complaining of bruising and stroke-like symptoms. She underwent a negative stroke work-up but was found to have profoundly low platelets and splenomegaly on examination. An abdominal CT scan was ordered, showing pelvic lymphadenopathy. Lymphoma was suspected. However, subsequent bone marrow and lymph node biopsies showed no evidence of this. Neuroprotective effects of different frequency preconditioning exercise on neuronal apoptosis after focal brain ischemia in rats.
DISCUSSION: Our findings suggested that three times or more per week of high-intensity preconditioning exercise exert neuroprotective effects through the downregulation of the Bax/Bcl-2 ratio and caspase-3 activation after stroke. Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting in Cancer Patients: Prevalence and Outcomes in the United States.
CONCLUSION: Among those undergoing CABG, the prevalence of comorbid cancer has steadily increased. Outside of major bleeding, these patients appear to share similar outcomes to those without cancer indicating that CABG utilization should be not be declined in cancer patients when otherwise indicated.
