Diagnostic and treatment dilemma during the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic: a primary pulmonary lymphoma presenting as a cavitary mass in a patient with coronavirus disease 2019: a case report
ConclusionA careful multidisciplinary strategy is required to expeditiously diagnose and treat aggressive cancers of the respiratory tract in patients acutely infected with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 while observing practices to prevent healthcare worker infection during the ongoing coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic.

Intrapericardial inflammatory myofibroblastic tumour in a 3-month-old infant associated with Coronavirus OC43 presenting with pericardial tamponade.
Authors: Donmez YN, Aykan HH, Orhan D, Peker RO, Yilmaz M, Karagoz T Abstract Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumour usually has a benign course and is very rarely associated with the heart. It can have life-threatening consequences, depending on its position or the presence of aggressive and metastatic complications. A 3-month-old boy presented with pericardial tamponade and was diagnosed with intrapericardial inflammatory myofibroblastic tumour associated with Coronavirus OC43. A large tumour attached to the left ventricle was completely removed by surgical resection and he made a full recovery. ABBREVIATIONS: A...

Comparison of Chest CT Manifestations of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) and Pneumonia Associated with Lymphoma.
Conclusion: Both lymphoma-associated pneumonia and COVID-19 generally manifested as patchy GGOs and mixed GGOs in more than one lobe. Compared to COVID-19, lymphoma-associated pneumonia tended to be relatively diffuse, with fewer air bronchograms, and no halo or reversed halo signs observed on chest CT. Favourable outcome of coronavirus disease 2019 in a patient with anaplastic lymphoma kinase-positive non-small-cell lung cancer receiving alectinib
Since February 21, 2020, when the first Italian patient was admitted to the hospital due to severe coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and found positive to the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), this infection has spread through Italy, quickly becoming the largest COVID-19 outbreak outside Asia [1]. On March 12th, the World Health Organisation (WHO) declared COVID-19 a pandemic, placing the WHO European Region at the centre of the pandemic. Elderly people and those with pre-existing health conditions are most at risk of life-threatening complications [2].

Atypical bilateral acute retinal necrosis in a coronavirus disease 2019 positive immunosuppressed patient.
CONCLUSION AND SIGNIFICANCE: To the best of our knowledge this is the first description of a case that has undergone vitreous PCR testing for COVID-19. It is interesting to note the high level of vitreous inflammation which would not be expected in an immunosuppressed state. We present a number of possible links between the SARS-CoV-2 virus and the unusual ocular presentation of bilateral VZV viral retinitis in this patient. While extra ocular VZV outbreaks have been reported with rituximab treated patients, this report should also raise the awareness of VZV related viral retinitis in DLBCL patients on rituximab chemotherap...

Revealing the therapeutic targets and molecular mechanisms of emodin-treated coronavirus disease 2019 via a systematic study of network pharmacology
In this study, using bioinformatics databases, we screened and harvested the candidate genes or targets of emodin and COVID-19 prior to the determination of pharmacological targets and molecular mechanisms of emodin against COVID-19. We discovered core targets for the treatment of COVID-19, including mitogen-activated protein kinase 1 (MAPK1), tumor protein (TP53), tumor necrosis factor (TNF), caspase-3 (CASP3), epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGFA), interleukin 1B (IL1B), mitogen-activated protein kinase 14 (MAPK14), prostaglandin-endoperoxide synthase 2 (PTGS2), B-cell lymp...

I'm 21 and have had chemotherapy during lockdown. I was one of the lucky ones
Since the start of the Covid-19 crisis, many hospitals have suspended routine cancer surgeries and chemotherapiesCoronavirus – latest updatesSee all our coronavirus coverageWhen I was diagnosed with stage four Hodgkin ’s lymphoma at the beginning of February, my mind immediately turned not to the illness and pain I knew would have to endure, but to the sadness of putting my life on pause. I could never have predicted that the world would end up putting its life on pause with me.My treatment – an intensive chemotherapy regimen – began on 4 March and finished on 12 May, coinciding closely with the UK lockdown which b...

Attenuated Novel SARS Coronavirus 2 Infection in an Allogeneic Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant patient on Ruxolitinib
SARS CoV-2 is an enveloped, positive-sense, single-stranded RNA β-coronavirus homologous to the severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) and Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS) viruses1-3. Upon infection, SARS CoV-2 enters respiratory epithelial cells and type-2 pneumocytes and induces a secondary immune response which may be associated with cytokine storm, leading to an ARDS (Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome) like picture4-8. Strategies to attenuate the severity of the inflammatory response have included the use of the Interleukin-6 receptor monoclonal antibody (ex.

Anti-coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) targets and mechanisms of puerarin.
Abstract The present study aimed to uncover the pharmacological function and underlying mechanism of puerarin as a potential treatment for COVID-19, using an in silico methodology, including network pharmacology and molecular docking. The pivotal targets of puerarin to treat COVID-19 were identified and included the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), tumour necrosis factor (TNF), tumour protein p53 (TP53), caspase 3 (CASP3), RELA proto-oncogene (RELA), Fos proto-oncogene (FOS), caspase 8 (CASP8), prostaglandin-endoperoxide synthase 2 (PTGS2), interleukin 2 (IL2), protein kinase CB (PRKCB), B cell lymphoma/le...

Management and Outcome of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Pediatric Cancer Patients: A Single Centre Experience from a Developing Country
CONCLUSION: Most pediatric cancer patients with COVID-19 should have good clinical outcomes except for patients with critical infections. Cancer patients can tolerate chemotherapy including induction phase, alongside COVID-19 treatment. In severe and critical COVID-19, RDV might have a potential benefit.PMID:34420893 | DOI:10.1016/j.clml.2021.07.025

The effect of the response to the coronavirus disease pandemic on treatment outcomes in patients with lymphoma and multiple myeloma
CONCLUSIONS: Countermeasures to COVID-19 did not affect treatment outcomes in patients receiving chemotherapy for lymphoma or multiple myeloma. Data on the effect of countermeasures to COVID-19 on treatment outcomes should continue to be analyzed to ensure that treatment outcomes are not adversely affected.PMID:34666434 | DOI:10.3904/kjim.2021.186
