Surgeons should always promote the communication with their patients and build a strong and trustworthy relationship. This attitude will allow to deal more easily with complications and, in the worst situations, with medico-legal litigations.LEVEL OF EVIDENCE IV: This journal requires that authors ...

Evaluating YouTube Videos on Facelift Surgery for Facial Rejuvenation as a Resource for Patients
CONCLUSIONS: For patients undergoing facelift surgery, there are limited educational videos on YouTube with few videos detailing indications, alternatives, complications, and the postoperative course. YouTube is a growing resource for patient education and opportunities exist for medical institutions to produce higher-quality videos for prospective patients.PMID:36788443 | DOI:10.1177/00034894231154410 (Source: The Annals of Otology, Rhinology, and Laryngology)

Comprehensive Assessment of Lower-Face Volume Reduction Using Laser-Assisted Liposuction as an Additive Procedure in Asian Rhytidectomy
This study aimed to examine the outcome of volume reduction of the lower face using laser-assisted liposuction (SmartLipo) at the time of rhytidectomy in Asians. There were 20 patients (Group 1) for whom only extended deep-plane rhytidectomy were performed, while extended deep-plane rhytidectomy with laser-assisted liposuction was performed on 42 patients (Group 2). This study was performed retrospectively. The FACE-Q questionnaire was given to evaluate the subjective result of the patient. Efficacy was evaluated by measuring the fat quantity at the midpoint and anterior border of the masseter muscle on each side by using ...

Lipofilling after total parotidectomy: a useful option to prevent functional and aesthetic sequelae
CONCLUSIONS: Lipofilling is an excellent solution considering its efficacy, safety, simplicity, duration over time and economic costs. Donor site invasiveness is minimal, and reintervention is always possible. Face-lift incision and SMAS flap can improve aesthetic results and minimise the disfiguring impact of the surgical scar.PMID:36654517 | DOI:10.14639/0392-100X-N2231 (Source: Acta Otorhinolaryngologica Italica)
