The subanalysis of Rheuma-VOR demonstrates a  considerable need for rheumatological care
DISCUSSION: The available data show that a rheumatological presentation was indicated for the majority of patients. Owing to the increasing deficits in medical care a prior selection of the patients is crucial to make optimal use of restricted rheumatological capacities.PMID:38456907 | DOI:10.1007/s00393-024-01490-2 (Source: Zeitschrift fur Rheumatologie)

Effectiveness of Tofacitinib in Patients Initiating Therapy for Psoriatic Arthritis: Results from the CorEvitas Psoriatic Arthritis/Spondyloarthritis Registry
ConclusionsThis real-world US cohort analysis described patients with PsA newly initiating tofacitinib; most were bDMARD-experienced or receiving monotherapy treatment. In patients who remained on therapy (48.8%), tofacitinib was effective across multiple PsA domains at 6  ± 3 months. Limitations included small patient numbers at follow-up and potential selection bias.Trial RegistrationClinicalTrials.gov identifier, NCT05195814. (Source: Rheumatology and Therapy)

Rehabilitation of patients with inflammatory rheumatic diseases and comorbidities: unmet needs
AbstractComorbidities may contribute to inadequate response to therapy and accelerate disability in various rheumatic diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis (RA), systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), and psoriatic arthritis (PsA). Cardiovascular, oncological, and infectious comorbidities are common in rheumatic patients. The rehabilitation of patients with inflammatory rheumatic diseases (IRDs) with comorbidities requires a multidisciplinary approach to improving patients ’ functional mobility, slowing down the disease progression and minimizing the risks of complications. The evidence suggests that cardiac rehabilitation ...

The Role of the Gut-Joint Axis in the Care of Psoriatic Arthritis: A Two-Sample Bidirectional Mendelian Randomization Study
ConclusionThis two-sample bidirectional Mendelian randomization analysis suggested that the gut microbiota had a causal effect on psoriatic arthritis and implied the potential role of probiotics in the management and prevention of psoriatic arthritis. (Source: Dermatology and Therapy)

A Prospective, Monocentric Case-Control Study on Uncontrolled Psoriasis as Independent Risk Factor for a Hypercoagulable State
ConclusionThis is the first prospective study comparing the CLP of psoriasis patients with that of HC. A significant increase in both amplitude and area under the curve, indicative of a hypercoagulable CLP, was observed in psoriasis patients compared to HC. After successful anti-inflammatory treatment, amplitude significantly decreased. (Source: Dermatology and Therapy)

Assessment of Patient-Physician Interactions in Psoriatic Arthritis: National Results of the ASSIST Study
CONCLUSIONS: In this study, few patients with PsA were at risk of suboptimal communication with their physician. This phenomenon appeared to be primarily related to higher disease activity and burden.PMID:38446398 | DOI:10.1007/s40744-024-00655-4 (Source: Pain Physician)

Comparative Effectiveness of Bimekizumab and Secukinumab in Patients with Psoriatic Arthritis at 52  Weeks Using a Matching-Adjusted Indirect Comparison
ConclusionIn this MAIC analysis, the efficacy of bimekizumab, as demonstrated by the likelihood of ACR20/50/70 and MDA response at 52  weeks, was greater or comparable to secukinumab 150 mg and 300 mg for patients with PsA who were bDMARD-naïve and TNFi-IR.Trial Registration NumbersNCT03895203, NCT03896581, NCT04009499, NCT01752634, NCT01989468, NCT02294227, NCT02404350.
