Multiple Sclerosis-Associated Uveitis: A Case Report of Refractory Bilateral Chronic Granulomatous Panuveitis Successfully Treated with Tocilizumab
CONCLUSIONS: Tocilizumab appears to be an efficient option for managing uveitis associated with MS and may be a valuable choice for clinicians dealing with such cases.PMID:38546424 | DOI:10.1080/09273948.2024.2332783 (Source: Ocular Immunology and Inflammation)

Developmental drugs for sarcoidosis
J Autoimmun. 2024 Mar 28:103179. doi: 10.1016/j.jaut.2024.103179. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTSarcoidosis is a multi-organ granulomatous inflammatory disease of unknown etiology. Over 50% of patients will require treatment at some point in their disease and 10%-30% will develop a chronic progressive disease with pulmonary fibrosis leading to significant morbidity and mortality. Recently published guidelines recommend immunosuppressive therapy for sarcoidosis patients at risk of increased disease-related morbidity and mortality, and in whom disease has negatively impacted quality of life. Prednisone the currently recommen...

Uveitic Macular Edema: Clinical Outcomes in Real-World Practice
CONCLUSIONS: Management of CME is challenging given the heterogeneous aetiologies, severity of the macular edema as well as response to the therapy. A high rate of resolution was observed, given sufficient time, but recurrence occurs in one-third. Current smoking status plays an important role in the risk of recurrence of CME and patients should be encouraged to stop smoking.PMID:38547157 | DOI:10.1080/09273948.2024.2328769 (Source: Ocular Immunology and Inflammation)

Extranodal natural killer/T-cell lymphoma coexisting with peripheral T-cell lymphoma, not otherwise specified
We report the case of a 52-year-old male who presented to our hospital with cervical lymphadenopathy. Lymph node biopsy revealed small atypical lymphoid cells positive for CD3 and CD5 and negative for CD56 and Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-encoded small RNA (EBER) by in situ hybridization. CD4-positive cells and CD8-positive cells were mixed in almost equal numbers. He was diagnosed with peripheral T-cell lymphoma, not otherwise specified (PTCL-NOS). The patient received one cycle of chemotherapy, resulting in severe sepsis. While undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit with an antimicrobial agent and prednisone, asciti...
