Drexel (philly campus) Pro Brand new campus City living My student interviewer was really nice and seemed to genuinely love the school! Cons Lottery system for rotations (biggest con for sure) Large class size Rosalind Franklin CMS Pro Rotating in... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Dual applying psych with a mostly peds background
I'm planning to dual apply psych and peds. Psych is my top choice with plans to go into child psych. I was a peds RN prior to med school, in med school I have volunteered 150+ hours at a free pediatric clinic, done research in community health peds and only have ~15 hours of volunteering at a homeless clinic with plans to volunteer more. Have really fallen in love with psych over this last rotation and feel that I'm a good fit for the specialty. I honored the psych shelf if that matters and... Gifts for Dentists after acceptance
I just got accepted to dental school and I want to get something special for two pediatric dentists that I used to work for. I was planning to get the whole office custom cookies but I can't think of something personalized or thoughtful for both of the pediatric dentists (M and F). Is anyone else in this predicament ? Rural Pediatrics
I recently moved to a small town in rural Southeast US and the patient census is nearly non-existant. I get, on average, five patients a day. Occasionally I have a full eight-hour shift with zero patients. I work for an FQHC, so I don't have any control over who I see - instead, I am just expected to remain available for any potential walk-ins or rescheduled patients. Compared to my last job, I'm bored to tears and feel that my skills are being wasted. I have to stay at this FQHC in order to... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

What courses are more important in undergrad?
Hello all, I am currently a junior majoring in psychology with the goal to continue onto a PhD program (hopefully UF as I am already a Florida resident). My fields of interest are either pediatric neuropsychology or pediatric clinical psychology, but these may be subject to change as I'm open to many things. My school does not offer a lot of "advanced" psychology courses or anything neuroscience related, but they do offer a handful of statistics courses. I was debating taking an additional... Thoughts on not choosing peds for financial reasons
I know most of you are pediatricians so this might seem like a negative statement but please hear me out. Was a peds RN prior to med school and came in expecting to do peds and am still thinking of PICU or even peds hospitalist. I've been trying to convince myself to do an adult specialty (honestly because of the pay and benefits) and could see myself tolerating any specialty, but I just have loved my pediatrics rotation as I figured I would. It seems unfair to have to do a peds... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Major changes proposed for pediatric training
Review and Comment www.acgme.org At the bottom section are proposed very large changes in the pediatric residency requirements including a decrease in critical care/neo time, decrease in procedure requirements and different rules about subspecialties being available.
