UCSF vs Pritzker
Hey everyone! I am very grateful to be deciding between my top two choices for medical school, but am now extremely torn. My goals: I am currently interested in academic medicine (and maybe biotech down the road) and am leaning towards adult or pediatric heme/onc, though this may change. I also want my career to be rooted in health equity and social justice — this is very important to me. Pritzker Pros: Supportive admin and faculty that seem invested in the success of... UVA vs BU pls help me decide im so torn
Grew up in Tampa, went to school in upstate NY, lived in NYC for gap year, and have come to really love being in a big city. Academically I'm interested in pediatrics, allergy/immunology, and am considering exploring combined peds/genetics programs. The ultimate goal is to live in NYC or the Northeast. UVA - pros Condensed, lecture-style pre-clinical with ample time to take electives and prep residency applications in M4 the people I met during second look - other prospectives... Business case for academic PM & R
I have questions for Academic folks here. I do not have business degrees and I do not have MBA degrees. But I just don't get it. HMOs look at the number of panels or patients loads and membership growth and they open and hire people based on the needs or just do quiet hiring and burn people out. However, whenever I look at job postings from academic centers i am shocked. Especially pediatric PM&R and even sports and brain injury and spinal cords!! some of those attendings see patients... NYMC AMP vs. NSU CHPP
Hi All! I was accepted into multiple post-bacc programs, but the two I am really struggling with are NYMC and NSU. Both offer a condition acceptance as long as you meet requirements. I think why I am down to these programs because the following: NYMC: MD program so seems like better opportunities for matching because I am interested in pediatrics, surgery, or some sort of speciality out of internal medicine. However, New York is not where I want to be and is super expensive. Also, a... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Dual applying psych with a mostly peds background
I'm planning to dual apply psych and peds. Psych is my top choice with plans to go into child psych. I was a peds RN prior to med school, in med school I have volunteered 150+ hours at a free pediatric clinic, done research in community health peds and only have ~15 hours of volunteering at a homeless clinic with plans to volunteer more. Have really fallen in love with psych over this last rotation and feel that I'm a good fit for the specialty. I honored the psych shelf if that matters and... Gifts for Dentists after acceptance
I just got accepted to dental school and I want to get something special for two pediatric dentists that I used to work for. I was planning to get the whole office custom cookies but I can't think of something personalized or thoughtful for both of the pediatric dentists (M and F). Is anyone else in this predicament ?
