Private Practice Buy-In Structures
I just interviewed at a group and received an offer letter, but realize that I don’t really have any materials to compare the most significant part of the partnership structure to since all of the other jobs I interviewed at are all hospital employed or salaried type positions. Are there materials available to better understand features of the partnership type offer such as: time to partnership, amount of buy-in, sources of revenue, expected salary after partnership, revenue share vs. eat... Best buy-in method for specialty (OMFS) partnership?
Hello All, Curious on what the thoughts are about the best/fairest way to buy into a OMFS practice is. Reason i'm asking is some of the people I've interviewed with have left an open window as to how I chose to buy in (after the associate-ship). Are there pros/cons to a specific method? Any method to avoid? the options I've heard 1- cash valuation - take a loan from the bank for the practice value and you're done. 2- Sweat equity - Work your way into the partnership by having some of... Private Equity Group vs Small PP
Pain fellow here looking to join PP.... Option 1. I have opportunity to join a private equity group with 15 docs/14 locations spanning 180 miles of the state. The CMO being a KOL (highly connected with industry and pushing advanced procedures). Promise of partnership, high salary, Opening a new location. Claims he is very serious about preventing "cannibalization" between docs. Option 2. Join a small PP with 2 other docs as an independent contractor (no partnership opportunity)... Job help
Graduating EM resident here. May go back for Addiction vs. Tox fellowship after 1-2 years. Currently debating between some jobs: A) Mostly ideal coastal location, SDG with 4 year buy-in. Pre-partner pay is base rate + RVU incentive ($7$/hr bottom 75% vs 15$/hr top 25%) + quality (minuscule). Once partner, +profit share bonus Q4. Basically, making 15-20% less as non-partner to buy in, then are “up for partnership vote”, which I’m told is a shoe in. Good benefits. Hospital system is mix of... Benefits of partnership track?
I'm a CA3 and am very grateful to have 3 job offers currently. But they are ... wildly different. First is private practice, no partnership track. Straight $400k per year no real opportunity to make more. Home call but very busy OB so you get called in often. Staff seems happy and has been there a long time. Second is academic tied to a major university system. Pay is $375k, in house call, but a ton of time off for "academic encounters". Which staff say is vacation time. Or... Phoenix Az Job Wanted...
(I posted this on the main board as well, but thought I'd post it here too if allowed) Hey all, I thought I'd throw this out there and see if any of you private practice folks have any insight for me: Maybe I should start with what I'm looking for--a democratic group with a 1-2 yr. partnership track with shared call, paid malpractice, 5-8 wks vacation, retirement, insurance, etc...(this is roughly what I'm finding everywhere else in the US) However, having spoken to...
