Analysis of growth dynamics in five different media and metabolic phenotypic characteristics of Piriformospora indica
This study monitored the growth dynamics of P. indica on five commonly used artificial media for microorganisms and analyzed its metabolic characteristics using Biolog Phenotype Microarray (PM) technology. The results showed that P. indica grew fastest on Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA), followed by Kidney Bean Agar (KBA), Alkyl Ester Agar (AEA), Oatmeal Agar (OA), and Luria-Bertani Agar (LB), and the most suitable medium for spore production was OA. Using Biolog PM1-10, 950 metabolic phenotypes of P. indica were obtained. P. indica could metabolize 87.89% of the tested carbon sources, 87.63% of the tested nitrogen sources, 96....

Jeongeuplla avenae gen. nov., sp. nov., a novel β-carotene-producing bacterium that alleviates salinity stress in Arabidopsis
This study not only identified a new taxon but also utilized genome analysis to predict and confirm the production of β-carotene by strain DY-R2A-6T. It also demonstrated the ability of this strain to enhance salt stress tolerance in plants, suggesting potential application in agriculture to mitigate environmental stress in crops. Disruption of the FMN-A524 interaction cascade and Glu513 induced collapse of the hydrophobic barrier promotes light induced J α-helix unfolding in AsLOV2
This study indicates that the displacement of N492 out of the FMN binding pocket, not necessarily requiring Q513, is essential for the initiation of the Jα-helix unfolding. Rather, the structural reorientation of Q513 activates the protein to cross the hydrophobic barrier and enter the post initiation phase. Similarly, the structural deviations in N482, rather than its integral role in unfolding, could enhance the unfolding rates. Further, the MSM studies on the wild type and the Q513 mutant, provide the spatio-temporal roadmap that layout the possible pathways of structural transition between the dark and the light state...

Can open label placebos improve pain and gluten tolerance via open label placebos in fibromyalgia patients? A study protocol for a randomised clinical trial in an outpatient centre
Introduction Fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS) is defined as a medical condition with chronic widespread musculoskeletal pain accompanied by mood disorders, fatigue and sleep disturbances. Treatment of this condition can often be challenging. As nutrition in general and nutritional interventions in the context of illness management become more and more important, current research also focuses on the relevance of diets for FMS, including gluten as field of interest. To date, there is no clear evidence that a gluten-free diet or other nutritional interventions are significantly important for the reduction of pain in the context of...

Phytochemical screening and anti-obesity, anti- diabetic and anti-oxidant properties of < em > Scoparia dulcis < /em > leaf decoction (crude)
Bioinformation. 2023 Mar 31;19(3):238-242. doi: 10.6026/97320630019238. eCollection 2023.ABSTRACTDue to their rising prevalence, diabetes and obesity were both classified as epidemics by the World Health Organization. The natural leaf essence of Scoparia dulcis (S. dulcis), is used as herbal remedy for diabetes and obesity worldwide. However, the objective of the current research was to examine the effects of consuming commercially available S. dulcis porridge on both diabetes and obesity. The S. dulcis plants were collected and the essence was prepared in a traditional way. Phytochemical screening was carried out to identi...
