Elephantiasis Nostras Verrucosa: A Treated Case With Dietary Intervention and Acitretin
Clin Cosmet Investig Dermatol. 2023 Dec 11;16:3535-3539. doi: 10.2147/CCID.S438610. eCollection 2023.ABSTRACTElephantiasis nostras verrucosa (ENV) is a rare and extreme complication of chronic non-filarial lymphedema. It can lead to severe disfiguration of body parts, especially the lower extremities, and is characterized by non-pitting edema and papulonodules with a verrucose or cobblestone-like appearance. Obesity is a risk factor of ENV. Various treatments have been reported for ENV. A 52-year-old woman presented to our outpatient dermatology clinic with non-pitting edema, cobblestone-like papulonodules, and erythematou...

Breast carcinoma presenting with upper limb lymphedema - A rare case
This report describes the case of a 50-year-old lady with right breast carcinoma who presented with right upper limb lymphedema. Surprisingly, she did not have any bulky axillary lymphadenopathy that could have accounted for lymphedema of the upper limb, but a suspicious breast mass was present on clinical examination. Diagnosis of breast cancer on clinical examination can be challenging in such patients due to breast edema and careful imaging of the breast and axilla with appropriate imaging tools (mammogram, ultrasound, MRI, PET mammography) should be resorted to before excluding malignancy. Lymphoscintigraphy confirmed ...

Lymphedema and Kaposi sarcoma: A narrative review
CONCLUSION: Lymphedema is a frequent complication of KS, and may reveal KS or occurs throughout its course. Association of KS and lymphedema must be known because lymphedema is a chronic disease affecting the quality of life. Beyond the treatment of KS, its management must be specific including a long follow-up to optimize the patient's observance required to maintain the best lymphedema control.PMID:38035924 | DOI:10.1016/j.jdmv.2023.10.007 (Source: Cancer Control)
