99mTc-Tilmanocept vs. Sulfur Colloid for Sentinel Node Biopsy for Melanoma in the Head and Neck
This study is a retrospective study, conducted at a single, tertiary care cancer center. Patients underwent sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) for head and neck cutaneous melanoma, using SC or TL, between October 2014 and February 2019. Differences in SLN identification rates and performance chara cteristics between the groups were examined using the Mann–Whitney, or Fisher’s exact test. Sixty patients underwent SLNB, of which 19 employed TL. There were no significant differences between SC vs. TL in operative duration (116 vs. 127 min,P = 0.97), radiation dose (530 vs. 547 μCi,P = 0.27), median number of SL...

Pretibial myxedema after Graves' disease: A differential diagnosis of lymphedema
CONCLUSION: Pretibial pseudotumoral myxedema is a differential diagnosis of lower limb lymphedema. This diagnosis is confirmed by questioning the patient about preexisting Graves' disease, the underlying etiology, to decide the appropriate treatment and to encourage cessation of smoking, which is a risk factor for pretibial myxedema.PMID:37827928 | DOI:10.1016/j.revmed.2023.09.003 (Source: Revue de Medecine Interne)

Interval Sentinel Lymph Nodes With the Use of Routine Lymphoscintigraphy in Extremity Melanoma
This study evaluated how often routine LS evaluation identified an interval sentinel lymph node (SLN) and how often that node was found to have metastasis. (Source: Journal of Surgical Research)

Lymphatic Malformations in Parkes Weber's Syndrome: Retrospective Review of 16 Cases in a Vascular Anomalies Center
Conclusion Lymphatic anomalies may be present in a significant number of patients with PWS and could have a role in limb asymmetry and outcomes. It is paramount to investigate their existence and distinguish them from true overgrowth. Lymphangiogenesis and lymphatic zippering in skin associated with the progression of lymphedema
Secondary lymphedema often develops after lymph node dissection or radiation therapy for cancer treatment, resulting in marked skin fibrosis and increased stiffness due to insufficiency of the lymphatic system caused by abnormal structure and compromised function. However, little is known about the associated changes of the dermal lymphatic vessels. Here, using the lower limb skin of secondary lymphedema patients, classified as types 1-4 by lymphoscintigraphy, we first confirmed the presence of epidermal thickening and collagen accumulation in the dermis, closely associated with the progression of lymphedema. Manual Lymphatic Drainage Increases the Number of Opened Lymphatic Pathways in Patients with Lower Limb Lymphedemas: A Sequential Research on 80 Patients
Lymphology. 2022;55(4):155-166.ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study was to lymphoscintigraphically assess the effect of skin mobilization, nonspecific massage, and manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) on the root of the lower limb in patients with lower limb lymphedema. Lower limb root lymphoscintigraphical exams of 80 patients with lower limb lymphedema were analyzed. All patients underwent our stand 3 phase protocol and then were subjected to the 4th phase which included 3 subphases. Images were taken directly after the injection (subphase 1), after pinching and stretching the injection site (subphase 2), after nonspecific massa...
