Use Trends and Recent Expenditures for Cervical Cancer Screening-Associated Services in Medicare Fee-for-Service Beneficiaries Older Than 65 Years
CONCLUSIONS AND RELEVANCE: The results of this cross-sectional study suggest that while annual use of cervical cancer screening-associated services in the Medicare fee-for-service population older than 65 years has decreased during the last 2 decades, more than 1.3 million women received these services in 2019 at substantial costs.PMID:36409511 | DOI:10.1001/jamainternmed.2022.5261 (Source: Cancer Control)

Single step & #8220;See and Treat & #8221; strategy might be replacing the & #8220;conventional three step strategy & #8221; in management of preinvasive cervical lesions at tertiary center: A North Indian study
Conclusion: Women with unhealthy cervix having high-grade colposcopy (Swede score ≥7) can be directly subjected to LEEP without waiting for results of any initial screening modality. Advantages include minimal over treatment coupled with reduced patient visits and interventions. (Source: Journal of Cancer Research and Therapeutics)

Development, Implementation, and Evaluation of a Distance Learning and Telementoring Program for Cervical Cancer Prevention in Cameroon
CONCLUSIONS AND RELEVANCE: These findings suggest that the Project ECHO e-learning and telementoring program was associated with improved skills for clinicians and support staff and enhanced quality of care for patients. In the COVID-19 era and beyond, reinforced efforts to strengthen cervical cancer knowledge and best practices through distance learning and collaboration are needed.PMID:36346631 | DOI:10.1001/jamanetworkopen.2022.40801 (Source: Cancer Control)

Homoeopathic Simillimum in Treatment of Verruca Plana (Flat Wart): A Case Report
Homœopathic Links 2022; 35: 191-197 DOI: 10.1055/s-0041-1735483Verruca plana are also known as flat warts present as small slightly raised papule often a few millimetres wide in diameter with smooth surface, reddish-brown or flesh-coloured, appearing on the dorsum of hands, shins and face. They are caused by human papillomavirus type 3 and less often type 10, 27 and 41. Conventional treatment methods include applying salicylic acid, liquid nitrogen and podophyllin, 5% fluorouracil ointment, carbon dioxide cryotherapy, interferon injections and loop electrosurgical excision procedure. A 26-year-old female teacher presented...

Recurrent Dysplasia After a Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure: Local Versus General Anesthesia
Conclusions Anesthesia mode does not seem to affect the rate of positive LEEP margins and the need for repeat conization. Our study findings suggest that LA should be preferred instead of GA in LEEP. (Source: Journal of Lower Genital Tract Disease)

Conservative Treatment for Cervical Adenocarcinoma In Situ: Long-Term Results
Conclusions Women with cervical AIS can be managed conservatively by an excisional procedure, provided that the margins are free and a close and long-term follow-up is guaranteed. (Source: Journal of Lower Genital Tract Disease)

Cancers, Vol. 14, Pages 4352: Can Adjuvant HPV Vaccination Be Helpful in the Prevention of Persistent/Recurrent Cervical Dysplasia after Surgical Treatment? & mdash;A Literature Review
Cancers, Vol. 14, Pages 4352: Can Adjuvant HPV Vaccination Be Helpful in the Prevention of Persistent/Recurrent Cervical Dysplasia after Surgical Treatment?—A Literature Review Cancers doi: 10.3390/cancers14184352 Authors: Kaja Michalczyk Marcin Misiek Anita Chudecka-Głaz Cervical cancer formation is preceded by precursor lesions, including low-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions (LSILs) and high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions (HSILs), which are usually diagnosed in women of reproductive age. Despite the recent advanced diagnostic and treatment methods, including colposcopy, the loop elect...

Pregnancy outcome and risk of recurrence after tissue-preserving loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP)
ConclusionsAfter tissue-preserving LEEP, there is an increased risk of vaginal infections and PROM at term in consecutive pregnancy. LEEP does not affect prematurity or miscarriage. The removal of additional endocervical tissue appears to be a protective factor against recurrence of CIN. (Source: Archives of Gynecology and Obstetrics)

Sleep restriction impairs visually and memory-guided force control
by Sarah A. Brinkerhoff, Gina M. Mathew, William M. Murrah, Anne-Marie Chang, Jaimie A. Roper, Kristina A. Neely Sleep loss is a common phenomenon with consequences to physical and mental health. While the effects of sleep restriction on working memory are well documented, it is unknown how sleep restriction affects continuous force control. The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of sleep res triction on visually and memory-guided force production magnitude and variability. We hypothesized that both visually and memory-guided force production would be impaired after sleep restriction. Fourteen men particip...
