Characterization of sleep efficiency transitions in family caregivers
AbstractFamily caregivers are at high risk of psychological distress and low sleep efficiency resulting from their caregiving responsibilities. Although psychological symptoms are associated with sleep efficiency, there is limited knowledge about the association of psychological distress with variations in sleep efficiency. We aimed to characterize the short- and long-term patterns of caregivers ’ sleep efficiency using Markov chain models and compare these patterns between groups with high and low psychological symptoms (i.e., depression, anxiety, and caregiving stress). Based on 7-day actigraphy data from 33 caregivers...

Effects of cervical stabilization training in patients with headache: A single ‐blinded randomized controlled trial
ConclusionsThis study suggests that CST reduces headaches and neck pain by improving the cervical musculoskeletal system in patients with headache.SignificanceThe CST improved the headache frequency, duration and intensity, neck pain intensity, cervical posture, activation of deep cervical flexor muscles and endurance of cervical muscles in patients with headache. In addition, improvements in the cervical musculoskeletal system contributed to a reduction in the intensity of headaches and neck pain. Therefore, CST may be preferred in the treatment of headaches, especially with coexisting neck pain. (Source: European Journal of Pain)

Can prophylactic HPV vaccination reduce the recurrence of cervical lesions after surgery? Review and prospect
Women with HSIL typically undergo conization/LEEP to remove cervical lesions, but the risk of HSIL lesions returning after surgical treatment remains higher than in the general population. HPV vaccination is e... (Source: Infectious Agents and Cancer)

Prevalence of high-grade anal intraepithelial neoplasia in immunocompetent women treated for high-grade cervical intraepithelial neoplasia
CONCLUSIONS: Women with a history of high-grade cervical intraepithelial neoplasia have an intermediate risk of developing high-grade anal intraepithelial neoplasia. Future studies are needed in order to assess an ideal screening approach for this condition.PMID:37852112 | DOI:10.1016/j.ejogrb.2023.10.014 (Source: Reproductive Biology)

Correlation Between Persistent HPV Infection and Vaginal Microecological Imbalance After Treatment of Cervical High-Grade Squamous Intraepithelial Lesion
CONCLUSION: After treatment of HSIL patients, clinical attention should be paid to monitoring of HPV infection but also to the changes in vaginal microecology, as timely correction of vaginal microecology can facilitate HPV regression and improve the patient's prognosis.PMID:37820668 (Source: Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine)

Frequency of post-treatment disease after excisional procedure in stage IA1 squamous cervical carcinoma - a case series
This article aims to verify the frequency of residual invasive or microinvasive disease after the excisional procedure in women with IA1CC. Data on women with IA1CC diagnosed between 1990 and 2022, were retrieved from medical records. Post-treatment disease was detected during a second surgical procedure or postoperative follow-up. Among the 69 included women, three (4.3 percent; CI95 percent 0-9.2) had residual microinvasive lesions, while none showed invasive disease during a second procedure or follow-up. Only the age of 37 years or more was significantly related to the presence of preinvasive or microinvasive residual ...

Overtreatment in the see-and-treat approach for high-grade squamous cervical cytology
CONCLUSIONS: The overtreatment rate with the 'see-and-treat' approach was 11.4%. Independent factors associated with overtreatment were current cervical cytological result of non-HSIL, and low-grade or normal colposcopic diagnosis.PMID:37753518 | PMC:PMC10518508 | DOI:10.1016/j.eurox.2023.100205 (Source: Reproductive Biology)
