Reprocessable, Highly Transparent Ionic Conductive Elastomers Based on β-Amino Ester Chemistry for Sensing Devices
ACS Appl Mater Interfaces. 2024 May 2. doi: 10.1021/acsami.4c03559. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTIonic conductive elastomers (ICEs) exhibit a compelling combination of ionic conductivity and elastic properties, rendering them excellent candidates for stretchable electronics, particularly in applications like sensing devices. Despite their appeal, a significant challenge lies in the reprocessing of ICEs without compromising their performance. To address this issue, we propose a strategy that leverages covalent adaptable networks (CANs) for the preparation of ICEs. Specifically, β-amino ester bonds as dynamic motifs are in...

New Advances in the Pharmacology and Toxicology of Lithium: A Neurobiologically Oriented Overview
Pharmacol Rev. 2024 May 2;76(3):323-357. doi: 10.1124/pharmrev.120.000007.ABSTRACTOver the last six decades, lithium has been considered the gold standard treatment for the long-term management of bipolar disorder due to its efficacy in preventing both manic and depressive episodes as well as suicidal behaviors. Nevertheless, despite numerous observed effects on various cellular pathways and biologic systems, the precise mechanism through which lithium stabilizes mood remains elusive. Furthermore, there is recent support for the therapeutic potential of lithium in other brain diseases. This review offers a comprehensive ex...

A bifunctional surfactant-like electrolyte additive for a stable lithium metal anode
Chem Commun (Camb). 2024 May 2. doi: 10.1039/d4cc01082e. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTNonafluorobutanesulfonyl fluoride (NtF) was developed as a bifunctional additive for enhancing the stability of the lithium metal anode. NtF can yield Nt+ and LiF. The presence of lithiophobic and lithiophilic groups in Nt+ facilitates the uniform deposition of Li+, while LiF contributes to forming a stable solid electrolyte interphase.PMID:38696231 | DOI:10.1039/d4cc01082e (Source: Chemical Communications)

Zero Voltage ‐Degradation of Li2MnO3 with Ultrathin Amorphous Li─Mn─O Coating
A Mn-based composite nanostructure constructed Li2MnO3 (LMO@Li2MnO3) with an ultrathin amorphous LixMnOy (LMO) coating layer is synthesized by a simple electrodeposition combined with hydrothermal lithiation procedure. Due to the etch effect of the high-concentration alkaline solution, Mn2+/4+ ions coexisted LMO amorphous layer can largely suppress voltage decay down to zero over 200 cycles. AbstractManganese-based lithium-rich layered oxides (Mn-LLOs) are promising candidate cathode materials for lithium-ion batteries, however, the severe voltage decay during cycling is the most concern for their practical applications. H...
