Comparison of totally laparoscopic and laparoscopic-assisted approach in gastrectomy with D2 lymphadenectomy for advanced gastric cancer after neoadjuvant chemotherapy: a retrospective comparative study
CONCLUSION: For patients with locally advanced gastric cancer after neoadjuvant chemotherapy, laparoscopic D2 gastrectomy can be considered as a safe and efficient alternative. A further multicenter prospective randomized controlled study is needed to elucidate the applicability of this technique for advanced gastric cancer.PMID:38586555 | PMC:PMC10995841 | DOI:10.4174/astr.2024.106.4.218 (Source: Annals of Surgical Treatment and Research)

Fate of small remnant pancreatic tail in splenic hilum after laparoscopic spleen preserving distal pancreatectomy: a retrospective study
CONCLUSION: In spleen preservation, leaving a small pancreatic tail inside the splenic hilum is feasible and more beneficial to the patient than performing splenectomy in anatomically challenging patients.PMID:38586554 | PMC:PMC10995840 | DOI:10.4174/astr.2024.106.4.211 (Source: Annals of Surgical Treatment and Research)

Robotic-assisted laparoscopic partial nephrectomy vs. laparoscopic and open partial nephrectomy: A single-site, two-surgeon, retrospective cohort study
CONCLUSIONS: Although patients who underwent RALPN had longer WIT, they had similar rates of complications, required less total OR time, and had shorter procedure time and LOS compared with OPN and LPN despite similar RENAL score compared to OPN and greater score than LPN.PMID:38587976 | DOI:10.5489/cuaj.8585 (Source: Canadian Urological Association Journal)
