Coagulation profiles in patients with sepsis/septic shock identify mixed hypo-hypercoagulation patterns based on rotational thromboelastometry: A prospective observational study
Sepsis-induced hemostatic disturbances are common and are associated with poor outcomes. Additionally, conventional coagulation tests (CCTs) overdiagnose hypocoagulation and cannot detect hypercoagulation and hyperfibrinolysis. The aim of this study was to describe the coagulation profiles of patients with sepsis/septic shock using rotational thromboelastometry (ROTEM) and to compare coagulation states between sepsis and septic shock groups and between surviving and non-surviving groups. Predicting post-discharge venous thromboembolism and bleeding among medical patients: External validation of a novel risk score utilizing ubiquitous biomarkers
Post-hospitalization thromboprophylaxis can reduce venous thromboembolism (VTE) risk for non-surgical patients but may carry bleeding risks. We aimed to externally validate the Intermountain Risk Scores for hospital-associated venous thromboembolism (HA-VTE IMRS) and major bleeding (HA-MB IMRS) for VTE and bleeding outcomes. Home treatment versus early discharge for the outpatient management of acute pulmonary embolism: A non-interventional, post-hoc cohort analysis
We prospectively investigated whether home treatment of pulmonary embolism (PE), is as effective and safe as the recommended early discharge management in terms of outcomes at 3  months. (Source: Thrombosis Research)

Predicting functional outcomes after acute ischemic stroke – Is thrombelastography useful outside perioperative bleeding management?
We read with great interest the recent publication by Ryu et al., on the utility of thrombelastography (TEG) as a prognosticator of functional outcomes after ischemic stroke among patients that underwent endovascular treatment (EVT) [1]. The authors suggested that a hypercoagulable signal on TEG, being a reaction time (Source: Thrombosis Research)

Towards optimal use of antithrombotic therapy of people with cancer at the end of life: A research protocol for the development and implementation of the SERENITY shared decision support tool
Even though antithrombotic therapy has probably little or even negative effects on the well-being of people with cancer during their last year of life, deprescribing antithrombotic therapy at the end of life is rare in practice. It is often continued until death, possibly resulting in excess bleeding, an increased disease burden and higher healthcare costs. (Source: Thrombosis Research)
