QALY-type preference and willingness-to-pay among end-of-life patients with cancer treatments: a pilot study using discrete choice experiment
ConclusionOur findings suggest a prioritised resource allocation to EoL-prolonging health technologies. Given the small sample size and large individual heterogeneity, a full-scale study is needed to provide more robust results. (Source: Quality of Life Research)

Health-related quality of life in patients with extremity bone sarcoma after surgical treatment: a systematic review
ConclusionsThe approaches used to measure HRQoL were inconsistent and outcome scores varied substantially. Only one study used preference-weighted instruments for HRQoL measurement. Future research into the surgical treatment of extremity bone sarcoma should consider the use of preference-weighted instruments to measure HRQoL, which will therefore enable economic evaluation for the growing orthopaedic armamentarium of novel surgical interventions.RegistrationThis systematic review was registered with the PROSPERO International prospective register of systematic reviews (CRD42021282380). Health-related quality of life of people with heart failure in low- and middle-income countries: a systematic review and meta-analysis
ConclusionThe overall health-related quality of life of people with heart failure in low- and middle-income countries is poor. Strategies should be strategically developed to improve the health-related quality of life of people with heart failure in these countries.Systematic review registrationPROSPERO CRD42022377781. Translation, cultural adaptation, and validation of the Chinese standardized outcomes in nephrology –hemodialysis fatigue (C-SONG–HD fatigue) scale: a study of Chinese patients undergoing hemodialysis
ConclusionThe Chinese version of the SONG –HD fatigue scale showed satisfactory reliability and validity in patients undergoing hemodialysis (HD) in China. It could be used as a tool to measure the fatigue of Chinese HD patients. (Source: Quality of Life Research)

What does better look like in individuals with severe neurodevelopmental impairments? A qualitative descriptive study on SCN2A-related developmental and epileptic encephalopathy
ConclusionMeaningful change thresholds have not been evaluated in the DEE literature. This study was a preliminary qualitative approach to inform future studies that will aim to determine quantitative values of change, applicable to groups and within-person, to inform interpretation of specific clinical outcome assessments in individuals with a DEE. Using a multi-stakeholder co-design process to develop a health service organisation-wide patient reported outcome measure collection system
ConclusionThis study provides new information on the co-design of a healthcare organisation-wide PROM collection system. Implementing a clinician and patient informed strategy for PROMs collection, that meets their preferences across multiple domains, should address known barriers to routine collection. Influence of body mass index on health complains and life satisfaction
ConclusionsThe results of this study provide compelling evidence that BMI plays a crucial role in shaping adolescents ’ well-being and their interactions with peers at school.
