Health-related quality of life in Parkinson ’s disease: systematic review and meta-analysis of EuroQol (EQ-5D) utility scores
ConclusionThe pooled utility values of PD and their caregivers help to understand their HRQoL and aid in conducting health economics research. The negative association between disease duration and utility values highlights the evolving nature of HRQoL challenges, suggesting the need for appropriate long-term disease management. The quality of life impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdowns for people living with multiple sclerosis (MS): evidence from the Australian MS Longitudinal Study
ConclusionsWe found that COVID-19-related adversity reduced the HRQoL of PwMS. Our HSU estimates can be used in health economic models to evaluate lockdown cost-effectiveness for people with complex and chronic (mainly neurological) diseases. (Source: Quality of Life Research)

Minimal clinically important differences in health-related quality of life after treatment with direct-acting antivirals for chronic hepatitis C: ANRS CO22 HEPATHER cohort (PROQOL-HCV)
ConclusionsThe overall MCID for the PROQOL-HCV scores ranged from 6.7 to 8.8 for improvement and from − 7.7 to − 4.6 for deterioration. The effect of DAA on PROQOL-HCV scores seemed particularly beneficial for patients with lower baseline scores. This subgroup could be motivated to take DAA if they are informed of the benefits for their HRQoL. (Source: Quality of Life Research)

Risk factors and intervention of caregiver burden in Parkinson ’s disease: a systematic review and meta-analysis
ConclusionCaregivers of PD patients experienced mild to moderate caregiver burden. Demographic factor, diseased-related factor and negative emotional factor were the risk factors of caregiver burden. Health education and care support for long-term management after DBS surgery should be provided for patients and caregivers to decrease caregiver burden. (Source: Quality of Life Research)

Symptom profiles in patients receiving maintenance hemodialysis and their association with quality of life: a longitudinal study
ConclusionPatients receiving maintenance hemodialysis reported unique symptom experiences which could be classified into different profiles. Patients reporting an overall high level of symptoms or a high level of fatigue and skin symptoms were more likely to have a poorer quality of life. (Source: Quality of Life Research)
