Comparison of fundus fluorescein angiography, optical coherence tomography and optical coherence tomography angiography features of macular changes in Eales disease: a case series
ConclusionEales disease though described in literature as classically being peripheral retina disease process, also has macular involvement. OCT and OCTA are useful guides to evaluation of macular involvement in these patients. The latter seems to be superior to FA in detecting macular abnormalities in this ailment. OCTA is non-invasive and shows deep capillary plexus changes which are not shown by any other modality. (Source: Journal of Ophthalmic Inflammation and Infection)

Sequential bilateral Beh çet’s neuroretinitis associated with prepapillary vitreous exudate: case report
ConclusionSequential bilateral neuroretinitis associated with PIVE may occur before other clinical features of BD become evident. SS OCT and OCTA can provide useful information for the diagnosis and management of this rare, but typical, ocular manifestation of BD uveitis. Preventing relapse in non-infectious uveitis affecting the posterior segment of the eye – evaluating the 0.2 μg/day fluocinolone acetonide intravitreal implant (ILUVIEN ® )
ConclusionsData showed that over a 36  month period, treatment with the fluocinolone acetonide intravitreal implant was associated with significantly fewer episodes of uveitic recurrence, a significantly longer time to uveitic recurrence, greater improvement in visual acuity, a lower need for adjunctive therapy, and an acceptable safe ty profile. A ten-year report of microbial keratitis in pediatric population under five years in a tertiary eye center
ConclusionThis study emphasizes the role of trauma as the primary cause andS. epidermidis as the most frequent microorganism in pediatric keratitis; according to antibiogram results and poor cooperation of patients under five years, monotherapy with fluoroquinolones could be a good regimen in small non-central lesions without thinning. The clinical spectrum of ocular bartonellosis: a retrospective study at a tertiary centre in Malaysia
ConclusionSmall foci of retinal white lesions were the most common manifestation of ocular bartonellosis in this series, followed by neuroretinitis, though an array of other ocular findings may also occur. Therefore, we should consider bartonella infection as a possible differential diagnosis in those patients. (Source: Journal of Ophthalmic Inflammation and Infection)

Increased incidence of glaucoma medication usage in middle-aged Australian males taking antiretroviral medication – a population-based study
ConclusionCompared with the known increase in glaucoma prevalence with age in the general Australian population, a statistically significant increased prevalence in use of IOP-lowering medications was found in males on ART aged 30 –49 years. The mechanism for this is yet to be determined, but possible causes include sequelae of HIV infection, a drug-induced side effect, or increased medical surveillance. Ocular syphilis with optic disc neovascularization treated with bevacizumab evaluated by OCT angiography and electroretinography
We present our findings in an atypical case of ocular syphilis with optic disc neovascularization that was treated with intravitreal bevacizumab and followed by multimodal imaging and electroretinography. A 29-year-old man presented with a chief complaint of night blindness of one-year duration. Our initial examination showed that an optic disc neovascularization was present, and the optical coherence tomographic (OCT) images showed a reduction in the length of the ellipsoid zone of both eyes. Fluorescein angiography showed leakage from the optic disc neovascular tissue, and the presence of nonperfused areas in the periphe...

Susac syndrome (Retino-cochleo-cerebral vasculitis), the ophthalmologist in the role of the whistleblower
ConclusionSusac syndrome is a multilocation arteritis of the head that can involve the eye, ear and brain often first diagnosed by the ophthalmologist. The diagnosis is rapidly reached in uveitis referral centres but seems to be missed otherwise, A helpful angiographic sign to be searched is an abrupt or segmental arterial stop and increased staining of the arterial wall more clearly seen on indocyanine green angiography. Patients often present first to the ophthalmologist who should be acting as a whistleblower to avoid severe involvement of the brain. (Source: Journal of Ophthalmic Inflammation and Infection)

Multiple evanescent white dot syndrome and panuveitis: a case report
ConclusionThe presence of iridocyclitis and vitritis, atypical to MEWDS, indicates the concurrent development of panuveitis associated with MEWDS. These results suggest that MEWDS is a clinical entity of uveitis. (Source: Journal of Ophthalmic Inflammation and Infection)

Initial-onset acute and chronic recurrent stages are two distinctive courses of Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada disease
ConclusionsAn early clear distinction of VKH phenotype [Initial-onset acute versus chronic recurrent disease] should be considered in each clinical scenario, evaluating the delay in diagnosis and the clinical presentation, since it may help clinicians to perform a correct disease prognosis categorization and thus to make treatment decisions in terms of potential refractoriness or expected clinical outcomes. Non-medial infectious orbital cellulitis: etiology, causative organisms, radiologic findings, management and complications
ConclusionNon-medial orbital cellulitis is an uncommon but sight-threatening and life-threatening condition. Timely diagnosis and accurate management reduce morbidity and mortality. Combined surgery for patients with superior or supra-temporal and large non-medial abscess is recommended. (Source: Journal of Ophthalmic Inflammation and Infection)
