Fibrin Network and Platelets Densities in Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) Membranes Produced from Plastic Tubes Without Additives: A New Approach to PRF Clinical Use
ConclusionPlastic tubes without additives offer a viable alternative for producing PRF membranes. They exhibited a higher platelet density and demonstrated fibrin network and cellular morphology similar to those of glass and silica-coated plastic tubes, irrespective of the centrifugation protocol. Central Giant Cell Tumour of the Maxillofacial Region: A 10-Year Retrospective Analysis
ConclusionProper diagnosis and treatment planning is paramount for successful management of central giant cell tumour of the maxillofacial skeleton. In the present study, aggressive resection keeping a 5-mm safety margin was the preferred treatment modality with the reconstruction options ranging from autogenous options like radial forearm, fibula free flap and deep circumflex iliac artery free flap to alloplastic options like reconstruction plates and more recently patient-specific implants (PSIs). Though PSIs with their immediate functional and dental rehabilitation along with decreased patient morbidity mark an exciting...

Intravascular Papillary Endothelial Hyperplasia of the Mandible in a 66 Year-Old Woman
AbstractIntravascular papillary endothelial hyperplasia (IPEH) is a rare benign vascular non-neoplastic lesion that is characterized by papillary proliferation of vascular endothelial cells. Masson first described this lesion in 1923, and since then, it has been named Masson ’s tumor, intravascular angiomatosis, Masson’s lesion, Masson’s pseudoangiosarcoma, Masson’s hemangioma, and vegetant intravascular hemangioendothelioma. The term IPEH is currently the most illustrative and the most frequently used in the literature. This lesion seems to occur in any blood v essel in the body, but it is more likely to be observ...

Intra-Oral Flap Splint Fabrication: A 3D Printing and Digital Impression Approach
AbstractIntra-oral flaps serve as a valuable solution for small to medium-sized oral cavity defects, yet complications such as flap sagging, tension at suture lines, mastication-related injuries, and patient discomfort remain challenges. The use of intraoral splint to support the flap diminishes these risks and complications. Conventional intraoral impression techniques are fraught with risks, including impression material infiltration and muco-compression, compromising blood supply. To overcome these challenges, the integration of digital impressions and 3D printing offers a novel solution for fabrication of intraoral spl...

The Comparison Competence Nasolabial and Forehead Flap for Reparation Nasal Tissue Defect of Basal Cell Carcinoma
ConclusionThis study aimed at comparing the nasolabial flap and paramedian forehead flap for nasal tissue defect repair caused by basal cell carcinoma, attempting to highlight the advantages and disadvantages of each technique. The nasolabial flap is found to be more time-efficient, provides better patient satisfaction, and results in less noticeable scarring, while the paramedian forehead flap offers greater coverage for larger defects. Further studies are needed to assess long-term outcomes and provide more comprehensive evidence on efficacy and complications. (Source: Journal of Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery)
