Neurofibromatosis Type 1-Associated Plexiform Neurofibromas of the Face and Adjacent Head Regions: Topography of Lesions and Surgical Treatment Data of 179 Patients
ConclusionThe color-coded, schematic overview of the frequency distribution of cutaneous tumor spread in NF1 patients with FPNF illustrates the importance of orbital/periorbital and cheek tumor manifestations in patients' treatment needs. The imaging procedure is suitable for controlling natural tumor growth in the same way as the documentation of the post-surgical course. Repeated interventions in the region are included in surgical planning of the progressing tumor disease. (Source: Journal of Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery)

Diagnosis and Management of Parotid Gland Cancer with Focus on the Role of Preoperative Fine-Needle Aspiration Cytology: A 10-Year-Long Retrospective Study with 5-Year Follow-Up
DiscussionCompared to previous studies, the present study showed significantly lower diagnostic sensitivity of FNAC for parotid gland cancers. The preoperative diagnostic accuracy for suspected malignant cases may be improved by repeat analysis of the cytological specimen by experts, preoperative core needle biopsy, and/or intraoperative FS analysis of the suspected mass. Comparison of Autologous Blood Injection and Dextrose Prolotherapy in the Treatment of Chronic Recurrent Temporomandibular Dislocation: A Randomized Clinical Trial
ConclusionProlotherapy is a relatively noninvasive, safer, and effective treatment modality with a high success rate for patients with CRTD. Both, ABI and dextrose, proved effective in reducing the pain and joint hypermobility associated with CTRDs within a week. ABI proved to be more efficient in reducing the mouth opening and limiting the dislocation of TMJ as compared to dextrose therapy. (Source: Journal of Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery)
