ConclusionsIn this large cohort of patients admitted for AP, despite being significantly older, we found that females had significantly improved clinical outcomes, including lower mortality, compared to males. Usefulness of self ‐expandable metal stents for malignant biliary obstruction using a short‐type single‐balloon enteroscope in patients with surgically altered anatomy

A case ‐control emergency department‐based analysis of acute pancreatitis in Covid‐19: Results of the UMC‐19‐S6
ConclusionsAcute pancreatitis as presenting form of COVID ‐19 in the ED is unusual (<1 ‰ cases). Some clinically distinctive characteristics are present compared to the remaining COVID patients and can help to identify this unusual manifestation. In‐hospital mortality of COVID‐AP does not differ from COVID‐non‐AP but is higher than non‐COVID‐AP, and the higher severity o f AP in COVID patients could partially contribute to this increment. Effects of pancreatectomy on nutritional state, pancreatic function, and quality of life over 5 years of follow up

Current status of pediatric deceased donor liver transplantation: Lessons learned from a high ‐volume center in Japan where living donation remains predominant
ConclusionsThe recent amendment of the organ allocation system, especially the introduction of pediatric prioritization, can effectively increase the chance to obtain deceased donor grafts for pediatric DDLT in Japan. The recent refinements in donor and recipient selection and in the surgical technique of split DDLT can improve the outcomes of pediatric DDLT in Japan.
