Robotic vs open distal pancreatectomy: A multi ‐institutional matched comparison analysis
ConclusionsRobotic distal pancreatectomy is a safe surgical strategy for PDAC and incidence of CR ‐POPF is equivalent between RDP and ODP. RDP should be considered equivalent to ODP in terms of oncological efficacy when performed in high‐volume and proficient centers. (Source: Journal of Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Surgery)

Precision anatomy for safe Approach to pancreatoduodenectomy for both Open and minimally invasive procedure: a systematic review
ConclusionsWe conclude that only certain anatomical variations are associated directly with perioperative outcomes and that identification of these particular variations is important for safe performance of MIPD. (Source: Journal of Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Surgery)

EUS ‐guided hepaticogastrostomy for hepaticojejunostomy stricture using a 22G needle and a mechanical dilator (with video)
AbstractEUS ‐guided biliary drainage (EUS‐BD) has been indicated for benign biliary strictures [1‐3], suggesting that hepaticojejunostomy stricture (HJS) can also be treated under EUS guidance. However, the intrahepatic bile duct is sometimes much narrower in cases with HJS. In this situation, puncture of the intrahepatic bile duct using a 19G needle is sometimes challenging. Glissonean Approach for Hepatic Inflow Control in Minimally Invasive Anatomic Liver Resection: A Systematic Review
ConclusionsGlissonean approach is safe and feasible for MIALR with several reported advantages compared to the conventional hilar approach. Clear knowledge of Laennec ’s capsule anatomy is necessary and serves as a guide for the dissection. However, the best surgical approach to be performed depends on surgeon experience and patients’ characteristics. Standardization of the Glissonean approach for MIALR is important. Unusual paired HCC recurrence in the biliary system after liver resection and endoscopic sphincterotomy
AbstractVarious patterns of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) recurrence have been reported after surgery, including metastasis to the remnant liver and portal vein tumor thrombosis [1]. Yang et al. reported that, among tumor recurrence following complete resection of 75 HCCs with macro/microscopic bile duct invasion, 53 cases (70.7%) had a recurrence in the bile ducts [2]. We treated by surgery an unusual case of HCC metastasis to both the extrahepatic bile duct and papilla of Vater. (Source: Journal of Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Surgery)

Surgical approaches for minimally invasive distal pancreatectomy: a systematic review
ConclusionsIn MIDP, a standardized approach and precise knowledge of anatomy facilitates safe surgery and has the advantage of a shorter learning curve. Anatomical features and landmarks are particularly important in cases of radical MIDP and splenic vessel preserving MIDP. (Source: Journal of Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Surgery)
