Early vitrectomy is indicated for both diffuse and dense vitreous haemorrhages of unknown aetiology
ConclusionsIn cases of diffuse or dense VH of unknown aetiology, an occult retinal tear should be suspected. Early vitrectomy should be strongly considered regardless of whether the fundal view is partially or completely obscured, to prevent progression to visually significant RRDs. Evaluating the utility of robotic axillary lymph node dissection in patients with invasive breast cancer: a systematic review
AbstractRobot-assisted axillary lymph node dissection (RALND) has been proposed to improve surgical and oncological outcomes for patients with breast cancer.  To perform a systematic review of current literature evaluating RALND in patients with invasive breast cancer. A systematic search was performed in accordance with the PRISMA guidelines. Studies outlining outcomes following RALND were included. Two studies involving 92 patients were included in this review. Of these, 41 underwent RALND using the da Vinci© robotic system (44.57%), and 51 underwent conventional axillary lymph node dissection (CALND) (55.43%). There...

Excisional haemorrhoidectomy in Crohn ’s disease — is it time to question an old dogma?
ConclusionThe current available evidence suggests a role for excisional haemorrhoidectomy in Crohn ’s disease patients with well-controlled symptomatic disease, though further prospective analysis is certainly warranted. The preferred operation (open vs closed) remains unclear.Future recommendationsFurther prospective trials are required to investigate the optimal approach to haemorrhoidectomy in Crohn ’s disease. Imaging of acute lower limb muscle injury and potential gender differences
ConclusionsGrade 1a is  the most common lower limb AMI grade in our institution, accounting for 25%. Biceps femoris is the most commonly injured muscle (45%) with grade 1b and grade 2b being the most frequently encountered grades of biceps femoris injuries. Lower-grade injuries are more common in females compared to ma les, although not significantly so. Further studies are required to explore possible reasons for this gender gap. (Source: Irish Journal of Medical Science)

The effect of spinal range of motion on functional balance, quality of life, and perception of appearance in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis after posterior spinal fusion surgery
ConclusionsIn AIS, limitation of movement in the coronal, sagittal, and transverse planes is observed after fusion surgery. Spinal ROM is affected by the level of fusion performed at surgery. Postoperative spinal limitation of motion adversely affected functional balance, quality of life, and perception of appearance. We believe that comprehensive rehabilitation approaches that improve postoperative range of motion and increase functionality are important for optimal postoperative recovery.
