Therapeutic management of congenital forms of endocrine hypertension
Eur J Endocrinol. 2023 Oct 17:lvad140. doi: 10.1093/ejendo/lvad140. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTCongenital forms of endocrine hypertension are rare and potentially life-threatening disorders, primarily caused by genetic defects affecting adrenal steroid synthesis and activation pathways. These conditions exhibit diverse clinical manifestations, which can be distinguished by their unique molecular mechanisms and steroid profiles. Timely diagnosis and customized management approach are crucial to mitigate unfavorable outcomes associated with uncontrolled hypertension and other related conditions. Treatment options for thes...

Genotype phenotype correlations in pseudohypoparathyroidism type 1a patients: a systemic review
CONCLUSIONS: This study revealed the correlation between loss-of-function RVs with round face and subcutaneous ossifications in PHP 1a patients. Further exploration on genotype phenotype correlations through more standardized and prospective studies with long-term follow-up is necessary.PMID:37837607 | DOI:10.1093/ejendo/lvad142 (Source: European Journal of Endocrinology)

Prevalence, risk factors and optimal way to determine overweight, obesity and morbid obesity, in the first Dutch cohort of 2,338 long-term survivors of childhood cancer: a DCCSS-LATER study
CONCLUSIONS: Overweight occurs in almost half of long-term survivors. There was no overall increased incidence of overweight compared to controls. We identified factors associated with overweight, as well as subgroups of survivors in whom DXA can more reliably assess overweight.PMID:37837608 | DOI:10.1093/ejendo/lvad139 (Source: European Journal of Endocrinology)

Hormonal control during infancy and testicular adrenal rest tumor development in CAH males - a retrospective multi-center cohort study
CONCLUSION: A delayed CAH diagnosis of more than 1 year versus CAH diagnosis within one month after birth was associated with a higher risk of TART development, which may be attributed to poor disease control in early life.PMID:37837609 | DOI:10.1093/ejendo/lvad143 (Source: European Journal of Endocrinology)

Adult Height Improved Over Decades in Patients with X-Linked Hypophosphatemia: a cohort study
CONCLUSION: Final height of XLH patients in France increased significantly over the last decades. Even though men's final heights improved more than women's, men with XLH remain shorter reflecting a more severe disease phenotype. While the results are promising, most patients with XLH remain short leaving room for improvement.PMID:37831782 | DOI:10.1093/ejendo/lvad144 (Source: European Journal of Endocrinology)
