Circulating cell-free DNA-based biomarkers for prognostication and disease monitoring in adrenocortical carcinoma
In conclusion, ccfDNA-related BMs are frequently detected in ACC patients and represent a promising, minimally invasive tool to predict clinical outcome and complement surveillance imaging. Our findings will be validated in a larger cohort of ACCs with long-term follow-up.PMID:38451242 | DOI:10.1093/ejendo/lvae022 (Source: European Journal of Endocrinology)

Impact of exenatide on weight loss and eating behavior in adults with craniopharyngioma-related obesity: the CRANIOEXE randomized placebo-controlled trial
CONCLUSION: Combined with intensive lifestyle interventions, a 26-week treatment with exenatide was not demonstrated superior to placebo to treat craniopharyngioma-related obesity.PMID:38450721 | DOI:10.1093/ejendo/lvae024 (Source: European Journal of Endocrinology)

Major improvement in thyroid cancer survival of elderly patients in the Nordic countries
CONCLUSIONS: Age disadvantage in TC survival was for the most part corrected over the 50-year period, and the remaining task is to boost survival for the oldest patients.PMID:38436478 | DOI:10.1093/ejendo/lvae015 (Source: European Journal of Endocrinology)

Autophagy markers are decreased in bone of osteoporotic patients: a monocentric comparative study
CONCLUSIONS: These results demonstrate for the first time that postmenopausal OP patients have a deficit in bone autophagy level and suggest that HUNK could be the factor linking estrogen loss and autophagy decline.CLINICAL TRIAL REGISTRATION NUMBER: ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier: NCT03175874, 2/6/2017.PMID:38430550 | DOI:10.1093/ejendo/lvae017 (Source: European Journal of Endocrinology)

Long-term Depot Specific Changes in Adipose Tissue after Treatment of Acromegaly
CONCLUSION: Treatment of acromegaly leads to an increase in AT mass in a depot and sex specific manner both at short-term and long-term follow-up. Glucose metabolism improves rapidly after disease control and persists.PMID:38401530 | DOI:10.1093/ejendo/lvae016 (Source: European Journal of Endocrinology)

Tall stature and gigantism in adult patients with acromegaly
CONCLUSION: In a group of 135 consecutive adult patients with acromegaly, 23% had increased height based on country specific and MPH data: 13% presented with gigantism while 10% had TS. The frequency of gigantism and TS in patients diagnosed with GH excess as adults is not higher in males than in females. Patients with acromegaly come from normal-stature families.PMID:38391173 | DOI:10.1093/ejendo/lvae019 (Source: European Journal of Endocrinology)
