Inflammation-based Scores In Benign Adrenocortical Tumours Are Linked To The Degree Of Cortisol Excess - a retrospective single centre study
CONCLUSIONS: NLR, SII and LMR correlated with the degree of cortisol excess in benign adrenocortical tumours and were altered in patients with CS and MACS. These findings suggest that, similar to clinically overt CS, MACS also affects the immune function, potentially contributing to the MACS-associated comorbidities.PMID:37962923 | DOI:10.1093/ejendo/lvad151 (Source: European Journal of Endocrinology)

Genetic testing in prolactinomas: a cohort study
CONCLUSION: we did not identify any (likely) pathogenic variants in patients over 30 years of age, either in a familial or sporadic context, and in in a sporadic context in our series or the literature. Special attention should be paid to young patients and to familial context.PMID:37956455 | DOI:10.1093/ejendo/lvad148 (Source: European Journal of Endocrinology)

A simple fragility fracture risk score for type 2 diabetes patients: A derivation, validation, comparison, and risk-stratification study
CONCLUSIONS: These novel scores enable simple and reliable fracture risk stratification in T2D patients. Future work is needed to validate these findings in external cohort(s).PMID:37956457 | DOI:10.1093/ejendo/lvad150 (Source: European Journal of Endocrinology)

Look left, look right: censoring in clinical research
Eur J Endocrinol. 2023 Nov 13:lvad152. doi: 10.1093/ejendo/lvad152. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTIn this methodology editorial the problem of censored survival (or time-to-event) data in clinical research is discussed. In case of censored observations, part of the observation time for some participants in a study is unobserved, which means that measures such as an average survival time cannot be calculated. Instead, censored survival time should explicitly be accounted for in the analysis of a study, for example using the Kaplan-Meier method. Implications of censoring and how to deal with it in the analysis of a study or ...

Responses to systemic therapy in metastatic pheochromocytoma/paraganglioma - A retrospective multi-center cohort study
CONCLUSIONS: We demonstrate in a real-life clinical setting that all current therapies show reasonable efficacy in preventing disease progression, and this is equally true for patients with germline SDHB mutations.PMID:37949483 | DOI:10.1093/ejendo/lvad146 (Source: European Journal of Endocrinology)
