Characteristics and treatment options of glucagonomas: a national study from the French Group of Endocrine Tumors and ENDOCAN-RENATEN network
CONCLUSION: Patients with glucagonoma had prolonged survival, even in the presence of metastases at diagnosis. Curative-intent surgery should always be considered. Chemotherapy, PRRT or liver-directed therapy seem to provide both substantial antitumor and antisecretory efficacy.PMID:38039101 | DOI:10.1093/ejendo/lvad157 (Source: European Journal of Endocrinology)

(Epi)genetic and clinical characteristics in 84 patients with pseudohypoparathyroidism type 1B
CONCLUSION: This study revealed the differences in some clinical characteristics, particularly clinical features and ages at the time of diagnosis between G2 and other groups and detailed NDs observed in some patients with PHP1B.PMID:38039118 | DOI:10.1093/ejendo/lvad163 (Source: European Journal of Endocrinology)

Age-Related Variation in Malignant Cytology Rates of Thyroid Nodules: Insights from a Retrospective Observational Study Assessing the ACR TI-RADS
CONCLUSIONS: Our study demonstrated that, as patient age increased, the rate of malignant cytology in thyroid nodules decreased. Moreover, age significantly influences the malignancy rates of thyroid nodules classified according to the ACR TI-RADS.PMID:38033287 | DOI:10.1093/ejendo/lvad162 (Source: European Journal of Endocrinology)

Metabolomic profile of neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) identifies methionine, porphyrin and tryptophan metabolism as key dysregulated pathways associated with patient survival
CONCLUSIONS: We identified a metabolomic signature that improves prognostic stratification of NET patients beyond classical prognostic factors for clinical decisions. The enriched metabolic pathways identified reveal novel tumor vulnerabilities that may foster the development of new therapeutic strategies for these patients.PMID:38033321 | DOI:10.1093/ejendo/lvad160 (Source: European Journal of Endocrinology)

Oral Glucose has Little or no Effect on Appetite and Satiety Sensations Despite a Significant Gastrointestinal Response
CONCLUSIONS: Despite eliciting robust responses of appetite-reducing and/or satiety-promoting gut hormones, we found that oral glucose administration has little or no effect on appetite and satiety as compared to an IIGI, not affecting the release of appetite-modulating hormones.TRIAL REGISTRY NO: ClinicalTrials.gov: NCT01492283 and NCT06064084.PMID:38035766 | DOI:10.1093/ejendo/lvad161 (Source: European Journal of Endocrinology)

Predisposing factors for adrenal crisis in chronic adrenal insufficiency: a case-control study
CONCLUSION: Higher glucocorticoid dosages in high-risk patients, despite unaffected cortisol metabolism, may be linked to decreased cortisol sensitivity or impaired glucocorticoid absorption. Proactive dose adjustments show a protective effect against AC, regardless of biological vulnerability.PMID:38006230 | DOI:10.1093/ejendo/lvad149 (Source: European Journal of Endocrinology)
