Tetraphenylene-based semiconductive metal-organic framework crystals for direct X-ray detection and imaging
Chem Commun (Camb). 2024 May 1. doi: 10.1039/d4cc01188k. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTMOFs have good potential for X-ray detection, but direct X-ray detection in single crystal form is rarely reported. In this work, we successfully synthesized Pb-TCPE, and the single crystal achieves a low detection limit and high detection sensitivity of 4812.6 μC Gyair-1 cm-2, which exhibits great potential for X-ray detection and imaging.PMID:38690879 | DOI:10.1039/d4cc01188k (Source: Chemical Communications)

VPg-based bidirectional synthetic mRNA circuits enable orthogonal protein regulation for high-resolution cell separation
Chem Commun (Camb). 2024 Apr 30. doi: 10.1039/d4cc01725k. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTSynthetic mRNA circuits commonly sense input to produce binary output signals for cell separation. Based on virus-origin cap-independent translation initiation machinery and RBP-aptamer interaction, we designed smart synthetic mRNA-based circuits that sense single input molecules to bidirectionally tune output signals in an orthogonal manner, enabling high-resolution separation of cell populations.PMID:38685869 | DOI:10.1039/d4cc01725k (Source: Chemical Communications)

Mechanistic variances in NO release: < em > ortho vs. meta < /em > isomers of nitrophenol and nitroaniline
Chem Commun (Camb). 2024 Apr 30. doi: 10.1039/d4cc01497a. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe NO release following 266 nm photolysis of ortho and meta isomers of nitrophenol and nitroaniline shows a bimodal translational energy distribution, wherein the slow and fast components originate from dynamics in the S0 and T1 states, respectively. The translational energy distribution profiles for any NO product state show a higher slow-to-fast (s/f) branching ratio for the ortho isomer in comparison with the meta isomer. The observed variation in the s/f branching ratio vis-à-vis the ortho and meta isomers is attributed to the pre...

Chem Commun (Camb). 2024 Apr 30. doi: 10.1039/d4cc01400f. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTWe have demonstrated a green aqueous synthesis of rod-shaped MoO3 material, [MoVI3O9{K(H2O)4}(CH3COO)]·H2O (2) intercalating potassium-aqua-complex acetate into its lamellar space, simply by ion-exchange of Co(II)-aqua-complex in compound [MoVI4O12(CH3COO)2{CoII(H2O)6}]·2H2O (1) by {K(H2O)4}+ in an aqueous solution of 1 and KCl. Recent progress and perspectives on metal-organic frameworks as solid-state electrolytes for lithium batteries
Chem Commun (Camb). 2024 Apr 30. doi: 10.1039/d4cc01340a. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTSolid-state electrolytes (SSEs) are the key materials in the new generation of all-solid-state lithium ion/metal batteries. Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are ideal materials for developing solid electrolytes because of their structural diversity and porous properties. However, there are several significant issues and obstacles involved, such as lower ion conductivity, a smaller ion transport number, a narrower electrochemical stability window and poor interface contact. In this review, a comprehensive analysis and summary of the uniqu...
