< em > TTN < /em > Mutation in Endometrial Endometrioid Carcinoma Is Associated with Poor Clinical Outcomes and High Tumor Mutation Burden
In conclusion, TTN mutation may serve as a biomarker for EEC prognosis. TTN mutation is also associated with WES-TMB, and could be a simplified TMB measurement technique.PMID:38666471 | DOI:10.1080/07357907.2024.2334249 (Source: Cancer Investigation)

Robotic-assisted hysterectomy for benign gynecologic disease in the United States: in-hospital use of opioid and non-opioid analgesics
AbstractTo compare the in-hospital opioid and non-opioid analgesic use among women who underwent robotic-assisted hysterectomy (RH) vs. open (OH), vaginal (VH), or laparoscopic hysterectomy (LH). Records of women in the United States who underwent hysterectomy for benign gynecologic disease were extracted from the Premier Healthcare Database (2013 –2019). Propensity score methods were used to create three 1:1 matched cohorts stratified in inpatients [RH vs. OH (N = 16,821 pairs), RH vs. VH (N = 6149), RH vs. LH (N = 11,250)] and outpatients [RH vs. OH (N = 3139), RH vs. VH (N = 29,954), RH vs. LH (N...

Risk of Postpartum Hemorrhage in Hypertensive Disorders of Pregnancy: Stratified by Severity
Conclusion CMHO was higher among those with HDP. After stratification, only those with preeclampsia with severe features had an increased risk of CMHO. Among individuals with HDP, those who also had a PPH had worse neonatal outcomes than those without hemorrhage. VaNoLaH trial: a study protocol-a multinational randomised controlled trial including two identical substudies comparing vaginal versus vNOTES (vaginal natural orifice transluminal surgery) hysterectomy or laparoscopic versus vNOTES hysterectomy
BMJ Open. 2024 Apr 23;14(4):e081979. doi: 10.1136/bmjopen-2023-081979.ABSTRACTINTRODUCTION: Hysterectomy is one of the most common surgeries performed in women. Minimally invasive methods are on the rise globally as they have been shown to decrease surgical morbidity compared with abdominal hysterectomy. Hysterectomy by vaginal natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery (vNOTES) is the latest innovation. It combines the vaginal approach and endoscopy via the vagina. Large pragmatic randomised controlled trials (RCTs) are lacking comparing outcomes after vNOTES, vaginal hysterectomy (VH) and laparoscopic hysterectomy (...

Benign metastasizing fumarate hydratase (FH)-deficient uterine leiomyomas: clinicopathological and molecular study with first documentation of multi-organ metastases
AbstractLeiomyoma is the most prevalent benign tumor of the female reproductive system. Benign metastasizing leiomyoma (BML) is a rare phenomenon that presents at distant sites, typically the lungs, exhibiting histopathological features similar to the primary uterine tumor in the absence of malignancy features in both. Fumarate hydratase-deficient uterine leiomyoma (FH-d UL) is an uncommon subtype among uterine smooth muscle tumors (0.5 –2%), showing distinctive histomorphology andFH inactivation. The majority of FH-d ULs are sporadic, caused by somaticFH inactivation, while a minority of cases occur in the context of th...

Factors Associated with Maternal Morbidity among Black Women in the United States
Conclusion The three factors most associated with SMM among NHBP are potentially avoidable or modifiable by aggressive screening, prevention, and treatment of preeclampsia and preterm birth as well as reducing cesarean rates in this population. Regional practice variation in hysterectomy and the implementation of less invasive surgical procedures: A register ‐based study in the Netherlands
ConclusionsRegional variation exists in the rates of hysterectomy and minimally invasive techniques. The absence of a significant substitution effect provides no clear evidence that minimally invasive techniques have replaced hysterectomy in clinical practice. However, although the result was not significant, embolization could be an exception based on its stronger negative association. (Source: Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica)
