A Cluster Analysis of Neuropsychological Impairment in Borderline Personality Disorder: Identifying a Neurocognitive Subtype Linked to Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
CONCLUSIONS: Two neuropsychological clusters of patients were found in the BPD sample: Cluster 1 patients showed greater impairment in working memory, while Cluster 2 patients had greater deficits of executive functioning, particularly for response inhibition and planning. In addition, BPD patients with greater executive deficits presented greater levels of ADHD clinical features. These findings might also facilitate earlier diagnosis of severe BPD patient profiles and to establish more personalized treatment based on neurocognitive stimulation.PMID:38695648 | DOI:10.1002/cpp.2979 (Source: Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy)

Clonidine Patch for Tourette Syndrome With Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder
CONCLUSION: Clonidine adhesive patch could safely and effectively reduce the tic symptoms of TS patients with comorbid ADHD, and might be potentially helpful in the ADHD symptoms control.PMID:38695046 | PMC:PMC11065525 | DOI:10.30773/pi.2023.0262 (Source: Psychiatry Investigation)

Dispensing of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder medications for adults in Aotearoa New Zealand
CONCLUSION: Medication treatment for adult ADHD is increasing in Aotearoa New Zealand and includes treatment for persisting childhood ADHD and new diagnoses made in adulthood. Despite increases, dispensing rates for ADHD remain lower than prevalence estimates, suggesting a significant treatment gap. Addressing the treatment gap for ADHD may reduce negative effects of ADHD, but wider social influences should also be considered.PMID:38696829 | DOI:10.26635/6965.6392 (Source: New Zealand Medical Journal)

Adult Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder is associated with Lewy Body Disease and Cognitive Impairment: A prospective cohort Study With 15-year Follow-Up
CONCLUSIONS: This study showed that adult ADHD is independently associated with an increased risk of LBD, dementia, and na-MCI. Future studies should clarify this relationship to develop preventive measures for these patients.PMID:38697886 | DOI:10.1016/j.jagp.2024.04.005 (Source: Am J Geriatr Psychia...)
