Comparison of Glecaprevir/Pibrentasvir and Sofosbuvir/Ledipasvir in Patients with Hepatitis C Virus Genotype 1 and 2 in South Korea
CONCLUSIONS: Both regimens had similar treatment completion rates, effectiveness, and safety profiles. Therefore, the SOF/LDV regimen can also be considered a viable DAA for the treatment of patients with genotype 1 or 2 chronic hepatitis C.PMID:38522854 | DOI:10.4166/kjg.2023.141 (Source: Korean J Gastroenter...)

Psychoeducational interventions for people living with chronic communicable disease: a systematic review
CONCLUSION: The findings of this review highlight potential benefits of psychoeducation but indicate more robust clinical trials will be required to examine their effectiveness and elucidate the mechanisms by which they best operate. Future interventions incorporating a broader focus on resilience enhancement and coping skills specific to stigmatisation could more comprehensively serve the needs of adults living with chronic communicable disease, particularly with HIV. The role of peer support in group psychoeducation merits further exploration.PROSPERO REGISTRATION NUMBER: CRD42021243058.PMID:38521523 | DOI:10.1136/bmjope...

Clinical significance of < em > CDT1 < /em > mRNA expression in chronic hepatitis C or liver cirrhosis
We examined the association between the CDT1 mRNA expression and clinical conditions and long-term outcome. We then examined the association between serum cytokine/chemokine levels and CDT1 mRNA expression in 58 cases. The cumulative incidence rates of HCC development in cases with CDT1 mRNA in the low expression group showed significantly lower than those in the high expression group (p = 0.0391). A significant correlation was found between CDT1 mRNA expression and the extent of proliferation of atypical hepatocytes in hematoxylin and eosin-stained sections (p<0.0001). CDT1 mRNA expression has been associated with cyto...
